I Am Beginning To Get Sceptical For The Push For Southern President By The North by Kenmatt(m): 9:36am On Jun 05, 2022 |
Greetings to you all. I am actually getting nervous by the trending news we are all getting, how eleven Northern Governors and their remaining counterparts from the same North are supporting Southern President as we have all seen the President, in the person of Muhammad Buhari has geared towards sticking to the "Gentleman's agreement" of 2015; returning Power to the South. Why am I really not comfortable with this really? Any of the Politicians who emerges as APC Flag bearer to contest the 2023 election among these three men, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Proff. Yemi Osibanj and Rt Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amechi, as these are the top guns in the race. Will definitely share the votes with Mr. Peter Obi of Labour Party. Yes, Obi is creating faction/Camp in the entire South, which East is inclusive. The bitter truth remains that Mr Obi, whom I love so much, can not win this election via Labour Party and the North know this. This is the core reason it seems as if they are in support for Southern President, which will paved way for Atiku of PDP to cling to Power in relation to the massive votes he will get from the entire North unopposed. There by coming down to the South to pick a running mate which is cancerous to the hope and aspirations of the South/East to chill at the exalted seat in As Rock through the Platform of APC or LP. What is my verdict? We need one voice. we need one vote. Obi should step down let's move this notion forward. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kenmatt:Why should Obi step down? Who is he going to step down for? Why shouldn't that person step down for Obi? The greediness of a section of the South is what is holding them down. Forget all these talks, the south with North Central have the capacity to retain power perpetually, but the over savvy and greediness of an important section is what is holding them down. SW refused to attribute same importance to other southern section thereby creating animosity among themselves. Well, it is good for the North, because power of deciding who governs remains here. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Regardless of who APC presents, they will win some key Buhari States. Yobe, Borno, Zamfara, Kastina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Niger. Kwara & Kogi will follow suit because of SW influence.. Kwankwoso will take Kano for sure and some votes in other states.. The SS/SE votes which Atiku is depending on will be shared among LP, PDP and APC in that order. Atiku has no chance, especially with Peter on the ballot. I, myself is voting Obi, I voted Atiku last time.. 5 Likes |

Kenmatt: It should not be discussed in public, is it divisive. Anyone good can win Election,be him from North or South. If Atiku wins,it means he is good. If southerner wins,it means he is good. Don't spread divisive thought. 1 Like 1 Share |

Mysticwebb: Obi lost out when he logged out of the contest in PDP. Labour Party do not have the charisma, power and the influence to sieze power from either APC or PDP at the national level. Nigeria is practically practising Two-Party System in disguise. 2 Likes |

Why not allow the yoruba enjoy the 'pyrrhic victory', since buhari has finally mentioned 'south'? The real northern politicians know that Atiku will have a monopoly of votes in the North and tinubu will struggle therein to even get 40% in the majority south (SE and SS) that now stands with PDP due to yoruba insult on these regions over the years. Even yoruba political pundits know this that's why they were desperate about PDP fielding another southerner like Wike who is very easy for yorubas to campaign against. Without the power of incumbency, no southerner can attain presidency except candidates on both major parties are Southerner. These are mathematical and statistical reality no one can wish away with political emotions. Power is remaining in the North in 2023./ 1 Like 2 Shares |

Frigga13: Tinubu rained all the insults on Buhari and the North thinking he can make himself president. Now northerners pull out and let him to make himself or any southerner a president. They tried to do the work in favour of party, but went there talking trash. We let the party for him and see how he would be after 2023,the surest way of retiring him. All the eleven Governors would start afresh and Atiku would welcome them. |

The truth is d north wants to retain power by any means necessary.. So if they field a weak southern opposition from apc ...then atiku will win d election and north will retain power.. Buhari wants amaechi and lawan to be the apc flagbearers knowing fully well that they can't win the presidential election.. Osinbajo and tinubu are major threats to the northern agenda and will do everything to try and prevent them from winning the primaries 1 Like 1 Share |

Kenmatt:. You are very correct , that is the game plan, they know that no APC candidate can win Atiku, and to pave way for more and comfortable votes from the north the pretended leaving power to the south, this is just a game, why didn't they say this before PDP primaries, just a day to go even with northern candidates, they have seen it will be unnecessary for north to go into the election since Atiku emergence, very soon they will start sending delegates to the south especially south East to beg them to support , that they will support them in the next election |

ImmaculateJOE:You are still a kindergarten in Nigeria Politics. The North value Religion and Tribe more than any political party. In a free and fair election, Tinubu is the only APC Southern candidate that can retain most of the Northern States that you mentioned. Unfortunately, he is corrupt and Buhari does not want him. That is the APC dilemma. If Osinbajo or Ameachi has what it takes to defeat Atiku and Kwankwaso in those northern states then APC will not be confuse presently. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ImmaculateJOE: I also voted Atiku last time and will vote Obi this time, but I tell you that since Buhari isn't on the ballot, APC will never sweep the North with a southern candidate. Even as popular as Buhari was, he barely won Atiku in the North because of the power of incumbency and rigging. Atiku will sweep the North, his problem will be in the SE and maybe SS because of Obi's candidacy. This election might look like a regional election where SE votes Obi, North Votes Atiku and SW votes APC (Depending on who is the flag bearer) 1 Like |

garfield1: The deciding states that gave Buhari the victory was the miracles figures from Kano, Katsina and Kaduna. If the margins were closer, Atiku could have won. I believed if you have removed those three states, Atiku would have won. |
