Obi left PDP simply because it was very clear to him that Atiku would pick Okowa. I can bet Atiku already told him clearly. Leaving PDP was the best option for him. If he puts up a good performance in 2023, he can take his party into alliance with PDP in 2027 and get the presidential ticket automatically.
