The defense you're trying to put up for your party, invariably is a confirmation that your party indeed, is involved in vote-buying. So, you actually agreed to the fact that your party induced the electorates financially. Hmn, God dey o 91 Likes 9 Shares |

It is one thing to defend your party's irregularities, it is another thing to give justification to a daylight robbery on the ground that it is not limited to your party, and the psychology of fairness most people want is only when the ruling party loses the electionn. This is laudable to be used as a defense against an unjust cause While I will commend INEC for a peaceful election in most areas of the state, a lot needs to be worked on this issue of vote-buying, especially as it is bribed into using the INEC staff and the security agent. This prevalent is mostly common among our aged parents and some illiterate youth whose major concern is centred on what they can receive at the moment without considering their future. While enough sensitization needs to be carried out, INEC will also play a part by employing a secret agent to monitor the activities of these guys in order not to jeopardise future state and presidential elections to come and also cause voting apathy. It's a shame Sir that you are admitting to this. Meaning you are trying to defend your party with the fact that others do it too. We'll never get it right with this attitude. 14 Likes |

The incidence of vote buying is worst in the south west i must confess, we all saw what happened in edo and Anambra state where people stood against all odds to elect their leader, they said Ekiti state is the home of professors, one will start wondering if education is really making a better society? Obviously the candidate of the SDP party is the better candidate from all indications, but hunger made people to vote otherwise. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

Kingspin: You vote, snap your ballot paper and evidence of how you voted and then you get the money.. My idea to beat this is to get pictures of thumbprinted ballot papers for the parties who are likely to bribe at the polling unit, pre-saved in your phone. Vote the right person that you really want and go take money from the agents of the politicians with the pre-saved pictures. That is, if you are too hungry and poverty-stricken for the stipends they are paying to buy your votes. After counting of votes at the polling unit, the party agents of the vote-buyers will collapse in shock after wasting their money.. 162 Likes 2 Shares |

To me vote buying is still better than election violence, ballot box snatching, gun trotting thugs shooting and killing to disrupt election. I am a living witness to such violence , it was hell . Vote buying will also be phased out of our polity, even if you are paid ,use your number 9 and conscience to vote the right candidate of your choice. 4 Likes |
