Good news with salary increase. But can someone knowledgeable explain the impact with inflation? Furthermore, why bore us with 5000 ghost workers? What should we do as citizens? You are the same government entrusted with running civil service, your incompetence brought in the workers, you are now telling us you bleeped up? Naija can taya person. |

the bloated civil service is one of the reasons why this country is in trouble the other day a friend promoted to manager in a government parasitical was give an option of a brand new honda crv. currently 20m plus literally all private businesses stopped buying cars for anything but executive mgt in 2015, because it could no longer be finacially justified but here we are n 2022, an economic downturn, reduced income, and the FG civil service is still bent on partying like its 2004 no belt tightening , no fiscal discipline, and very little value add 3 Likes |

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.
Until we discover this problem and fix it, we would continue to suffer. 1 Like |

Quest7777: For a government that claim Nigeria is broke and we have to live on borrow ... i doubt an increase will see the light of day. The most annoying that about nigeria economy is that even at mere speculation of salary increase, the prices of goods & services go increase, whereas implementation of salary might take longer or worst still never happen. in nigeria we all know whatever goes up only God can push it down small 1 Like |

How can a government leaving office in a couple of months be talking about increasing workers' salaries when they have been unable to pay the workers their current salaries? Are they trying to create problems for the incoming government? |

The only way for corruption to stop is for the head of such service to be sacked asap and replace with the next available person. If as a head, you know you'll be sacked and will stop receiving salaries the moment corruption is noticed in your agency, you'll be forced to fight it yourself even if you're not directly involved |

Hmmmm....... "working towards possible salary increase" .... and sooo many will open mouth and swallow..... only "salary increase" registered in their brain. With that in mind ... they will rush to cast vote for the present FG to get that increase. The people are our biggest problem... love to swallow without chewing..... can feed them anything. |

Perfectbeing: Because corruption is endemic in Nigeria, that MAY not achieve the desired results. The person that will replace is equally corrupt. Majority of Nigerians are corrupt. Those shouting are making noise because they do not have the opportunity yet. 1 Like |

The most unproductive civil service in the world, characterized with nepotism, favouritism, lukewarmness at its peak, lackadaisical in operation, tribalism, godfatherism and all. It becomes worse when one Aboki who doesn't know how to write ABC is being placed on a Grade level 9 salary scale, while you with a degree and a well grounded mind is still struggling at the gate of one organisation as a serial Lima or senior guard in a private security company with a monthly pay of 15k. Is that not sickening to the ears? This CORNTREE been don rotten since!!! 1 Like |

ppogba:If the next person knows fully well that he will be removed once his corruption is found out, he will sit up. The MD of NNPC will be corrupt cos he knows even if he's caught nothing will happen. But when he knows he will be removed once the government finds out he's mismanaging funds he will sit up.. Who doesn't like to be called the Managing Director of NNPC? 1 Like 1 Share |

What a senseless move. This halfhearted move is pure politics and makes zero economic sense. A government that's knee deep in debt shouldn't be looking to increase salaries when there hasn't been any corresponding increase in productivity. Buhari is simply writing his name in the good books of the workers all at the expense of the nation's pocket that's already reading negative. |
Re: FG Hints At Salary Increase For Civil Servants, Uncovers ‘5,000’ Ghost Workers by RepoMan007: 11:27am On Jun 24, 2022 |
kingmsookwagh:Exactly. No increase in productiveness but increase in salary even when the nation is being crippled by debt. It is nothing more a stupid political move to score points in the minds of thoughtless civil servants who don't care about their work but money. 1 Like |

COMMODITIES PRICE REGULATION is the only way, not increment of salaries. Nysc Corp members that collected #19,500 few years back were able to safe money that those that are collecting #33,000 presently. And the same thing with civil servants when the minimum wages was #18000, that 18k goes a long way back then than the new 30k. |
