You are being alarmist and not putting your education to good use with this lamentation.

In the first place, gas cost has risen astronomically globally since Russia-Ukraine war started. Read up on why it is so.

On your unnecessary dramatics about food, parents still feed their children as no sensible responsible parent will let his or her children go without food because of high gas prices.

For as long as this war continues, gas price will remain high and that is why even Europe has started telling their citizens to cut down on gas usage and switch to alternatives, even EU itself has switched to other energy sources like coal.

If wealthy EU countries can switch to alternatives, that should teach you how to be sensible with your finances too when prices of any commodity is going sky high because of artificial reasons. That is called demand destruction to force price down.

In Nigeria, we can switch to kerosene, coal etc to reduce demand for gas so that those who want to further profiteer from the scarcity can reduce their price.

Sensible parents have since bought stoves and coal pots for now like Europeans in order to wait out this war period and will get back to gas when the price falls.
This is the way out not just lamenting and forming a lamentation group.

Gas itself , due to the deleterious effect of its combustion CO2 emision on our climate, will one day be phased out once we perfect the renewables.

N:B To those 'entitled' ones screaming we have gas in Nigeria, let me remind you that between the gas underground and your kitchen is a lot of billions of USD investments you do not have o and those who made the investment from their hard-earned money can not keep subsidizing your gas consumption endlessly especially when they have willing buyers and international contracts that pay more for this gas in the scarce forex our country currently needs.

Banking on gas subsidy after you enjoy petrol and electricity subsidies that our folks in the villages do not enjoy is an unjust ungodly welfare system you use to kill those poor villagers who are not enjoying your privileges of electricity, petrol subsidies and now gas subsidy but picking your bills , environmental and social costs while you feed fat on resources govt could use to give them basic amenities like pipeborne water; clinics, security, schools, standalone solar generators etc.
Their blood is on your hands if you want to extend your subsidy appetite now to advocating for gas subsidy at their expense.

FG must never subsidize gas. Get creative and responsible. Kill this lazy youth with entitlement mentality of yours.

You are the one in need of an education. Nigeria is the 10th biggest Natural gas exporter yet cooking gas is cheaper in Ghana, Ivory coast and almost every other country in west Africa.
People like you who sell the government's talking points are our biggest problems.
Why should Nigeria switch to kerosene when we have abundance of gas. Do you think kerosene is cheap? Clearly, you don't know kerosene is also gotten from crude oil which has also increased in price

You see some folks ehn, in an effort to sound intelligent, they end up sounding terribly stupid. And you think you are making sense like this o
Why the heck should inflation hit the Nigerian gas when we are not importing same from the two countries at war?
Natural gas price inflation in Europe is very understandable as natural gas is the main source of energy for homes and industries across Europe and 40% of it comes from Russia being the largest producers and exporters of energy in Europe. This ongoing war has greatly distorted their demand and supply chain, so it’s very natural to experience price inflation in countries relying on them for energy (since the demand is now higher than supply, price will naturally go up)
How Russian-Ukraine war take concern Nigeria, professor?
Stop making it look like it’s normal for some greedy Nigerian sellers to hoard what we have in abundance thereby creating unnecessary artificial scarcity and making life unbearable for the masses. That’s madness and lack of empathy. But I’m still not surprised because that’s the Nigerian spirit for you and it’s really unfortunate that we often see nothing wrong with creating unnecessary hardship for others all because we want more profit. Nigerians always enjoy making profits from other people’s misfortune. Here is another fellow trying so hard to defend rubbish (Hoarding). He even said the poster wasn’t putting his education to good use

Our issues are tied to inflation. In Nigeria, too many naira is chasing after few dollars so the price of dollars keep going up. If we reduce the amount of naira in circulation, things will get better. If we increase the demand for naira (increase interest rates to entice foreign investors to buy our treasury bills and bonds), things will get better. BUHARI’s failure is because he has failed to reduce recurrent expenditure and/ or raise taxes to reduce the number of naira chasing foreign goods (dollars).

I have advocated many times on this forum that tax revenues be used to subsidize quality education as this will invariably increase the disposable income of our middle class and below population.

The problems Nigeria is facing is just at the end of phase 1. There is a whole lot of pain yet to occur because our leaders do not have sense and the people also lack understanding.

The phase 2: code name Weimarization
The government would increase the incomes of civil servants and apologize to the Nigerian people. The masses would be happy as usual, without realizing that a further increase in naira in circulation (inflation) is occurring. The government would explain that the increase is made possible by higher oil prices.

Is It a Nightmare or is this real
Oil prices crash because of… … …
- Ukrainian war ends
- Elon musk reduces the prices of Tesla
- GM, VOLKSWAGEN, and Ford massively increase production and sales of electric vehicles
- The world falls into a global recession
- Climate change protesters force their governments to reduce carbon footprint
- shale oil production increases
- OPEC plus increases production of crude oil
-Japan and Germany announce that nuclear energy technologies are safer now so there are going to build new plants
-a new pandemic occurs
- basically any number of factors can occur.

So once again, the Naira would have no choice but to be massively devalued.

This is the cycle of poor macroeconomic decisions that is causing so much poverty and suffering in Nigeria.

Imagine the guts people have to defend the unbearable high cost of gas in Nigeria.
Someone even mentioned Russia, what concerns Russia with this.

I used to buy 12.5kg for 4,000 before this devilish APC government took over.
I got for 10,000 2days ago.

Do we have to wait until we start buying at 2k per kg.
Imagine this moniker FreeStuffsNG spewing trash, after typing sh**t, he likes his post with different monikers.
I wanted to reply the fellow, I had written half way before changing my mind. Just imagine him comparing gas prises in nigeria(a major gas producing country) to the price in Europe, a net consumer.
I think we truely have folks with loose screws on this forum.

Bros, you just publicly disgraced yourself. Folks that look at you as an intelligent person will be highly disappointed. Your analysis is at best mediocre.
