What's A Good App For Sending Money In ECOWAS Countries? by visitingsoon: 12:50am On Jul 03, 2022
Hi!

I'm an American visiting Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and Ghana in upcoming weeks. I'll have a small amount of cash for food, water, and gas, but I'm wondering how to pay for larger expenses like a car hire.

If I wanted to send money to someone virtually/digitally, is there a well-known app that is commonly used in all or most of these countries?

I don't have an African bank account, so it would have to be something I can load up from a foreign bank transfer or credit card.

I've seen "MTN mobile pay" mentioned a few times, is that good?

Thanks!

Good old Western Union. They can convert the cash to local currency in the receiving country. Saves you a lot of stories. Cheers.
