Akpaka Forest Original planned to be a forest reserve near Onitsha by colonialists, the place was later mapped out for building due to rapid expansion of Onitsha. Few years later, forest gave way to mansions even when the roads are yet to paved

People in the east don’t mind building mansions all around a virgin land while neglecting wide roads and most importantly drainages...my grouse with big eastern developers. This is where town planners should sit up

The planning is nice. Onitsha is the greatest city in Igboland. This is where Soludo comes in. He must focus his road construction in Onitsha, Awada, Nkpor, Nkwelle and the urban centres of Onitsha mega city. Onitsha residents have done their part, it is left for government to complement them.

Dude, you are ill-informed about the word urban. Please stop misusing it.

Ibadan is still a larger urban city than Lagos.

Urban and developed are not the same thing.

Where did you get your definition of the word Urban? Urbanisation has been defined by different schools of thought. As far as Urbanisation is concerned there is no generally accepted definition for it and the guy above may base his understanding on his own school of thought just as you may have different definition from him and that does not make any of wrong

Not all part of ibadan are urbanized, some parts are still remote.. That is where metro and outskirt.

80% of lagos is urbanized it would have been 100% if not for takwa bay areas(snake island etc) and remote epe.

Port harcourt have more urban areas than ibadan.

You still don't get it. Urban areas are not determined by scale but by spread.

Ibadan has biggest spread in Nigeria.

What is urban to start with?

Ibadan is a big city/urban area in africa no doubt

But when we talk about heavily urbanised cities, small accra fit pass ibadan.

Ibadan is majorly remote! Am not talking about shanties, i mean real undiluted villages.

Lagos ranks No.1 in Nigeria.

Lagos ranks No.1 in Nigeria.

Urban is the traditional pattern by which a people organize their society through a heirarchy of cultural norms.

Lagos is a developed metropolitan city. Metropolitan development is the planning of a city around economic functions and interchange of sustainable infrastructures.

In an urban city culture is the predominant factor.

In a metro city life supporting infrastructure is a central factor.

Sometimes an urban city can also acquire a metro status but there are distinct lines between the two.

Lagos is #1 metrocity...or megacity, but not the biggest urban city.

We will all pay for it someday, it's either extreme heat or extreme rainfall.. Each will happen at its own time of the year.

Oga ibadan is like 40% of is rural area.

Rural cannot be urban.

You have a point though.

Hope you not thinking that 60% of ibadan land is inhabited by humans?

Juhanesburg for instance that is the second after ibadan has just 40% of the land inhabited by human.

The O2 you breath is thanks to amazon and congo forest and some part of asia.
The forests in nigeria are just complementing it.
Why do you think people in the sahara area are not yet dead?

Of course I Know.

But they are depleting too.
The Amazon rainforest in Brazil and Siberia in Russia is being depleted massively.

Both contributes a lot to the global Oxygen supply.

Am not in surport of de-forestation but even if nigeria get bald we go still dey.

Amazon forest is almost the size of west africa if not more than.

Congo forest is biger than nigeria like 10 times.

Its just parts of the forest that are being tamperd with.

You made a statement about the people of onicha breathing because of deforestion, that was just what i want to correct.
