All is set for the commencement of the shooting of a historic film on Aba the Enyimba City in the Eastern heartland of Nigeria in West Africa, titled: "The Chronicles Of Enyimba".

The film which is expected to have over two thousand casts and crew aims to unravel the metamorphoses of the historic city which dates back to the Mid and late nineteenth (19th) Century by its founder and forebearer Chief Aba Amaku to 188 when one of his great-grandchildren, Ogbuji Ukaegbu settled the first British Colonial Merchants in his late father's compound and the founding of the first British Consulate in Nigeria on a piece of land which today houses the National Museum of Colonial History along Aba-Ikot Ekpene Highway in the famed Elephant City, giving birth to the enduring seed of British diplomacy, politics and international trade in Nigeria and West Africa to early 20th Century when Aba became designated as a township by the British Colonial administration and has since metamorphosed into a titanic behemoth of many parts and characters spanning numerous spheres and directions.

The Chronicles Of Enyimba is being produced by Anaedo Film Production Company Limited, an indigenous movie-making outfit partnering with agencies, government, companies and other organisations to research and shoot box office full-length celluloid and video films aimed at the global marketplace.

Speaking to journalists in Aba, the chief executive officer of the company, Mr Francis Ifeakandu said that "The film will also document the rise of Aba-born and Aba-groomed stars and superstars in national and international entertainment, sports, business, politics, technocracy, bureaucracy, and allied fields of human endeavour."

Continuing, Ifeakandu pointed out that "The movie project will equally highlight the broad array of global stars, superstars, and megastars who had been to Aba to perform and deliver the best of themselves and their talents in the past years of the growth and development of this extraordinary city that midwife the birth of Nollywood, the World's third largest and successful movie industry after America's Hollywood and India's Bollywood about three decades ago."

This movie, Chronicles Of Enyimba is equally aimed at propelling the Enyimba city into its next level of growth and development alongside famed cities, such as Los Angeles, Bangkok, Dubai and others through the expansive attraction of Direct Foreign Investment (DFI), global tourism and national industrial prominence cum economic revolution.

It will also Chronicle the facts and prevalence of iconic individuals, and personalities whose careers passed through Aba before achieving extra-ordinary successes like former World Boxing Council (WBC) undisputed middleweight and light-heavyweight Champion, Dick Tiger Ihentu, former British Prime Minister, John Mayor.

Former Biafran Leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Dr Kingsley Ozuomba Mbadiwe, Dr Alvan Ikeokwu, former, Old Imo State Governor, Sam Mbakwe, first Nigerian woman parliamentarian, Margaret Ekpo, Chief Jaja wachukwu.

Justice Udoh Udoma, former Commonwealth Super Lightweight boxing champion, Obisia Nwankpa of the Nigerian Army, Africa's foremost novelist, Professor Chinua Achebe and Nigeria's Lady of Songs, Christy Essien-Igbokwe.

Also captured in the scope of the film script is how Aba actors and actresses, a long list of global icons and other foreign superstars who have made indelible appearances and performances in the famous Enyimba City such as American-been Music and film Superstar, Isaac Hayes, the Black Moses and Shaft of Africa.

Jamaican-born reggae Megastar, U-Roy and Eric Donaldson, Haitian-born U.S based Music Maestro, Wyclef Jean, Trinidadian-born Calypso Music King, Mighty Sparrow, Queen of Music, Lady Venus, Arrow, Gypsy and Nigerian-born Fela Anikulakpo, Kuti,

The United States and Japanese Ambassadors including World Bank President, James Wolfenson, former President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, General Ibrahim Babangida, Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar-Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and General Mohammadu Buhari just to mention but a few.

In a nutshell, the contemporary history and phenomenon of Aba the Enyimba city of Eastern Nigeria runs like a thriller of many sorts.

A famous city with a seemingly fabled past which astounds observers and researchers alike in the modern-day narrative, but remains factual from the cradles of its civilization.

Aba has over the centuries garnered a spectacular record of achievements in commerce industry, copy-technology, entertainment, sports, and social activism, which makes the Aba-made and "Nwa Aba" or "Aba-boy-girl" phenomenon resonate in the reason the city was named after the elephant (Enyi).
