GO AND VERIFY.
..
Two men were governors: one in Lagos, the other in Anambra.
Towards the end of their second term, the one in Lagos sent his retirement bill and got his house of assembly to approve what you see below as his yearly pension.

1. 300% annual salary as severance package as approved by RMAFAC.
2. 100% of annual basic salary of incumbent gov as salary for LIFE even after leaving office.
3. Six new cars every 3 years
4. A new house in Lagos, minimum 5 bedroom
5. A new house in Abuja or any other location, minimum 5 bedroom.
6. Free medical care for him and members of his family for life.
7. Entitled to cooks, stewards, Gardners, and domestic staffs, all pensionable.
8. 300% of his annual basic salary as governor every 2 years as furniture allowance
9. 100% of annual basic salary as governor as his house maintenance allowance
10. Two DSS officers, 1 female officer for his wife and eight policemen to guard him.
11. 25% of his annual basic salary for personal assistants.
12. 30% of his annual basic salary for car maintenance .
13. 20% of his annual basic salary as utilities maintenance.
14. Pensionable drivers, no limits to the number.

(This is apart from what he gets as a percentage of collections from the firm - Alpha Beta - which collects tax for Lagos State, and the total control he has over the governors and the treasury.)
..
..
But See what Peter Obi collects from Anambra State since leaving office as governor:

1. No gratuity
2. No pensions
3. No houses
4. No cars
5. No allowances of any kind
6. No maintenances of any kind.
7. No personal assistants paid by the state.
8. No domestic staffs paid by the state.
9. No aids sponsored by the state.
10. Not even pure water.
11. No shishi from the State.

Now the two men want to be president.

So choose you today who means well for Nigeria and who will serve the people selflessly.

I am just exposing your mind to see the truth.
It is now your decision to make and convince others.

On one hand, Lagos is still flourishing... Though on a painful silence... On the other hand, Nigeria cannot afford such a stupendous looting of its treasury.
There will be triple the amount of foreign dept Nigeria will incur, compared to what is already on ground.

We should be given data to make the right judgement if LAGOS is flourishing as perceived.
I created a topic on this politics section which I do not know why the moderators has not published it. We need to start comparing oranges with oranges and apples with apples.

Below is my topic
YOUTH, LETS ASK THESE LEADERS HOW THEY HAVE PERFORMED DURING THEIR PAST ASSIGNMENTS

I have been following Nigeria political landscape in the recent months and could not fault majority of youths glimpse of hope when the message of some of the contestant resonated with what we want and pushed many of us to queue to get Voters card to be eligible to vote in our great country with innate potentials, wickedly bottled up by bad governance.

I said our youths should be asking the right questions, lets start going through the time these men were in public or private service, how did they handle our common wealth instead of our tribal and religious sentimentalization which has done non of us any good but has only favored only the ruling elites.

Even up to our current state governors , we need to start holding them accountable for all the debts they are accruing for us and our yet un-born children to inherit. All reasonable Nigerians should ask the Debt Management Office Nigeria to update their portal with State and federal debts from 1998 till date, currently we have Domestic debt stocks for state from 2011 which might not give us enough data to probe the efficient use of resources by these Presidential standard bearers.

Nigerian youths , we must be ready to compare apple for apple and Orange for Orange.
If we have two persons working for the same company but posted to different branches with each branch paid according to the prevalent economic conditions in the location, if Mr. A earns 500, 000 Naira/month for the same job that Mr.B earns 220,000/month because of the location he resides, then after 4 or 8 years when stock is taken, Mr. A has acquired a 2013 Tokunbo Camry worth 6.5m , out of this money , he borrowed 5m from his bank to purchase the car and contributed 1.5m of his own savings.
Then Mr. B after same time bought a 2004 Tokunbo corolla for 2.4m , out of this amount , he borrowed 500, 000 from his bank and contributed 1.9m of his savings to the purchase of his car.
To the person evaluating both performers from the outside, Mr.A will seem like the greater performer, but with all the available data and economics, Mr.B is the greater manager of his financial and everyone that values returns will go with Mr. B.

I used this illustration to depict what most of us should be looking at, because a Governor is building that big convention center or infrastructure does not mean he is performing, it is only when he is building it at the best available cost and with minimal borrowing that we will say he has the interest of the masses at heart. Most of the gigantic projects our politicians engage on are just means of siphoning our common fund and those they borrowed on our behalf. If a President or Governor borrows 100billion to do a project that if transparently and competitively done could have taken 41billion Naira, though the project might be huge and satisfying but the citizens has been short-changed by 59billion Naira.
The amount of money that consultancy and supervision private firms with little or no prior experience consume on most of these project leaves you wondering what the ministries and their staffers that should take care of that are doing.

We need to get the debt profile that each contestant incurred during any office he/she participated in and ask the right basic questions
In year XYZ, FGN/state external debt and domestic debt rose from X amount to Y amount under your administration, could you share with us what and what these funds were used for and the values the project are executed at, that way we could see who and who is prepared to make the desired change we seek as youths of a potential rich nation like Nigeria.

WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER , LETS ALL START ASKING DMO Office to update their portal with the debt profile both Domestic and external from 1999 till date, with that we could start building the spirit of holding our leaders accountable for their excesses.

DMO Website : https://www.dmo.gov.ng/

On the side; I wipe for my country Nigeria, in 2012 when I was in the country, a distant family member told me her husband traveled to United States with entourage of one of the northern state governors, how did that happen since he is not from or working for the state? because the lady is a close friend to the state first lady, this same state was owing workers salaries at that time but you could see how un-needful excesses are consuming funds that might have been borrowed or should be used in uplifting the living standards of the electorates or subjects in the state.

If the one in Lagos becomes the President, you can guess what will be his entitlements after his tenure. Nigerians lets be careful and reason well just because of our children and their future. Any one that wants to continue with the legacies of this current govt.should not be allowed to be president. Please just enter inside supermarket close to you ,you will be annoyed within your yourself on the rate of madness going on on this country.

This is simple logic but may be difficult to a niophite or a mischievous person to understand - one state is rich because the governor performed excellently well while the other state was rendered impoverished by the cancerous governor. A labourer deserves his wages.
