While conveying judgment in suit no ID/13178C/20, Equity Ogala held that the arraignment had demonstrated the charge of homicide, scheme and endeavor to distort equity and unfortunate behavior as respects the demise of their servant in their home at Bariga, Lagos State.

The court sentenced Stephen for the charges of scheme, endeavor to debase equity, wrongdoing and extra sometime later of crime.

"The subsequent respondent, having figured out that the main litigant had killed the departed because of the beating, helped her in distorting the course of equity by balancing the body with a rope.

"There were three grown-ups in the house: the respondents and the housemaid. The respondents were the last two grown-ups that reached out to the housemaid before her demise.

"The hanging was organized, the departed was hanged by a rope and the position the police found her body didn't portray self destruction as her feet were on the floor,"she said.

Ogala additionally held that the respondents messed with proof when they treated the body, which made it challenging for the toxicologist to complete a post-mortem.

Fortune was condemned to 14 years prison, while Steve packed away two years detainment.
