Statistics has shown that poor men have highest number of children in nigeria.the question is,is it because they have nothing except their wife or what?

Where did you get the statistics from?. . . .It could be that sha. . . . . .come to think of it the wife is the only form of entertainment and relaxation. No dstv, facebook, twitter, youtube or nairaland. No jacuzzi, spa or vacation to the bahamas. . . .

For the farmers, it could be that they want thier kids to help on the farm when they grow up.

1.When you have no job to keep you very busy/tired and all you do is sit at home, dream, build castles and wish then what else do you expect from this man?

He becomes master of only one job! Making babies. Those stats are correct. No figures though.

2.Lack of education on modern fp methods on the side of women.

3.Perception.Failure to embrace fp methods claiming its a foreign ideology.

4.Outdated cultures.Belief that having many children is a sign of wealth.

5.Fulfilling God's commands 'Go and fill the earth'. undecided

6.Lack of alternative ways of entertainment resulting into unexpected pregnancies.

Poor men should not be allowed to have children until they can prove that they have the regular income to provide for them and pay their school fees. Poor people with many kids increase the liabilities and problems of the society.

Plus some of them feel that a child is a blessing from God and so do not bother to prevent child birth (In Northen Nigeria)

Also, not all of them have access to contraceptives and even if they do, they might consider it unnecessary and expensive

Funny comment. Reminds me of the second inscription written on the Georgia Guidestones in Georgia, USA, which I consider very harsh. Available here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Guidestones#Inscriptions
