Why did the govt decide to use the police to raid gazzette and arrest it's staff instead of imposing the 5million naira fine?

Please dear everyone, please forgive me for posting this but I have no choice because the mods ban my old username. Please sirs and ma's, my name is Faith, am a 26 years old single mom of 1. My son is just 2 years old. I used to be a hairdresser before my present predicament. In August of 2021 I fell very sick and was rush to the hospital by my neighbour. Doctor said that I will have to be admitted because by the time that they have prescribed several drugs for me, my hands and both of my legs has developed rashes and started to swell up. The swelling got worst and more severe as time went by, eventually leading to multiple skin ulcers. Preliminary results shows that I was diagnosed with blood infection. Am currently living with severe skin ulcers in my left arm, the palm of my hand, and both of my legs and feet. I've been suffering with this condition since then.
Am crying out because I need serious medical attention, I cannot afford to go to the hospital and am dying here due to lack of money. I regularly require resuscitation with anti biotics and regular blood transfusion at St David's Specialist hospital. I also urgently require Prolonged Sore Management with Vacuum Assisted Closure Device and skin graft to help regain my normal life again but unfortunately I can't treat myself because I don't have enough on me. Doctor said the procedure will require 1.3million Naira to give me my life back and so far I've been able to raise only 300 thousand with the help of my friends and some kind hearted well wishers who have taken pity for me in the past few months. Pleas sirs and ma's, am an orphan both my parents are late. I have been trying every possible best to raise the remainder to no avail. I don't have any property to sell again and I cannot work in this my condition pls I beg of you, I can't even look after my 2 years old son, that's why am pleading with any well meaning person pls, no matter how small pls, it will still go a long way to help me and save my life and that of my little boy pls. May God bless you all in Jesus name Amen

How does arrest come before charges? What is the basis of the arrest? What are the charges?

Tinubu’s people promised me N100,000 but paid only N40,000: Fake Catholic Bishop
“I am a Christian and I am supporting Tinubu but I hate when people lie and fail to deliver on their promises,” Joseph Odaudu told Peoples Gazette.

TOSIN AJUWON • JULY 20, 2022

Fake bishop and Tinubu
One of the fake bishops apparently hired by Bola Tinubu’s campaign for the public presentation of Kashim Shettima as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has narrated how he was paid for the appearance.

The imposter, who identified himself to Peoples Gazette as Joseph Odaudu, said Mr Tinubu’s hirelings broke a mutual agreement to be paid N100,000 for the shady job.

“They came to meet us at the car park behind Eagle Square and they promised to give me N100,000. They bought food for us and took us to another place where they gave us clothes to dress like Christian leaders and reverend fathers,” Mr Odaudu told The Gazette shortly after the event in Abuja on Wednesday. “But after we finished they only gave me N40,000 and another person said they got only N30,000. I don’t know why they changed our agreement because they said they had N100,000 for us.

“I am a Christian and I am supporting Tinubu but I hate when people lie and fail to deliver on their promises,” he added.

A spokesman for Mr Tinubu’s campaign did not immediately return a request seeking comment.

The fake bishops had appeared in a cassock to give Christian voters a false impression that Mr Tinubu’s decision to pick a Muslim northerner as his running-mate for the 2023 general election meant well for the country despite strong criticism from the Christian community and opinion leaders in the country.

The Catholic Church had described those who appeared at the event held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja as “impostors,” telling The Gazette the church had no representation at the event.

When asked if he knew that it was illegal to disguise as a Catholic bishop, Mr Odaudu insisted he didn’t break any laws.

“No law was broken we only tried to show Nigerians that Christians are solidly behind Asiwaju Tinubu,” he added.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had kicked against the choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket and registered its opposition against the ruling decision of the ruling All Progressives Congress for the 2023 election.

Also, Christian leaders in the APC had repeatedly warned that the same religion ticket would spell doom for the party, following reactions and heavy criticism from Nigerians.

The arrest might not be unconnected with the story above ☝️

They should go n explain the source of all those unverified news they keep dishing out

U cant just wake up n write anything about anybody because u want to trend n be known

I know for sure they have a case to answer

That's why you have the right to sue .
But when a government behaves like a ragtag dictatorship, then its likely there's truth to what was said

You mean sane Nigerians? The series of fake news or to say the least unverified news released by them is quite alarming.

Yes, I acknowledge your concerns, and also share in that perspective. However, that's where due process comes in. It should be legally taken up in the ambit of the judiciary.

Please Make it louder Abi. No arrest warrant Nothing Nothing just barge in like a Criminal

Exactly my point. How can the police be raiding a press house. If they've erred, the correct process was to get a warrant from a court house or sue them and follow due process.
