My late mum work with the Ondo state ministry of finance before her death in 2018. She died in active service.
I have processed all the paper works and given payment voucher but yet we haven't heard from the government.

Whenever i call anyone at her former ministry or the pension Office, they tell me i have to know a strong personalty before they can release it the pension and gratuity. I don't know anyone that can help me with this.

Pls i need suggestions and ideas on how to get this done. I am even thinking of petition but I don't know if that is a good idea.

Getting pension from state government can be a daunting task in this type of situation, I will recommend going through Nigeria Union of Pensioners too.

My mum that even knew strong personality yet she hasn't taken up to 1 percent. Ondo state gratuity is in God's hands.

Thanks for the advice. I have been to the Ondo pension Office that did all the paperwork but they have no help to offer beyond that.

That's the truth my uncle who died in service its was his elder brother who retired as a P.S. that helped the wife never knew there's a gov policy that any civil servant that dies will be paid 4 years salary ,she got close to 12m and she was paid within 6 months ,so you have to know someone to help

Thanks for your contribution..we haven't gotten anything since my mum died in 2018.

OP, are you the next of kin on her record of service? If Yes,

What you need to process her entitlement are the following: Death certificate from a govt recognised hospital, pay slips starting from the month she died and account details of next of kin.

Once you have all these, you will write application for payment of burial expenses. Go to the ministry where she worked before her death and ask for burial expenses unit. And ask for the format to address the letter as it may varies across ministry.
