I have seen the podcast, but am too lazy to watch it. But I go watch am this weekend, during my long runs with headphones. I like that Mr. Jordan is talking more about politics these days, but I can see how his opinion is shaped by western narratives such as designating it as a ''totalitarian regime'', and confronting China as an enemy. I can see how no matter how smart an individual is, his worldview is always shaped by the information they have access to.

Any individual that lives under the web of western hegemony must actively try to seek alternative news, otherwise, you will think a certain way without even knowing it, and yes, Nigeria is under the web of western hegemony. For example, Japan love the US even though America dropped two atomic bombs during the second war, but somehow, they hate the Chinese even if they were the ones that raped, colonized, and brutalized the Chinese.

This is exactly what the media will do to you. You will love your oppressors (also known as Stockholm syndrome), and hate those that actually wanted the best for you.

I am not that vast with international politics nuances, but from listening to Dr Jordan Peterson, one can tell he seeks for the truth, and most times criticises the west for their shortcomings and even his beloved Canada, going as far as taking legal actions against the Canadian govt and winning.

I rely to a large extent on the education he gives for free on YouTube, everybody is shaped foremost by their environment. I believe Dr JP is well read and a deep thinker worth listening to, like one of the rules in his book I think he seeks to understand the opposing side perspective before taking a hard stand.

From reading your posts about "western hegemony" you've been preaching since the Rus-Ukr war started, I understand your view point, "absolute power currupts" there must be check and balance.

But If China becomes a solidified world power tmr omo I won't be surprised if their subtle oppression of weak 3rd world countries supercedes that of the US/West or retaliate adding jara for all the evils Japan did to them in their low state...or will they play the bigger country

When you finally get to listen to this episode, I'll really like to read your take on it, especially on the points raised by the guest Mr Micheal Yon -
WEF and the imminent Global famine.

Despite this reality, I wish our leaders can just create the enabling environment for the citizens. Good roads & constant electricity alone can go a long way to help businesses to thrive. I don't know if I've asked you this question before, but how does the West prevent our politicians from building good roads, providing constant electricity and other basic amenities? For instance, the road leading to my house in Ogun State is so bad, did the West prevent the governor from fixing that road? I guess the part where you said our politicians choose to embezzle answers that question. Thanks for your continuous supply of good info on this forum. More grace.

This is sad for me to say, and the political elites knows this well, but I'll say it anyways.

The realities of most African countries right now is not an happenstance, but something that have been carefully engineered centuries ago by the west. We exist in the world they created for us, and we are exactly where they want us to be.

In this imposed world they created, our best time would be in the past, not the future. The best time of your country will be in the memories of your parents, and if you think that you're having a bad time, then the upcoming generation will have it worse.

Africa as a whole never got independence in the truest sense of the word, what we called "independence" is nothing but the transition of a dying method of exploitation (colonialism), to a more sophisticated, effective, self-sustaining method of subjugation (imperialism). Nothing more.

You can't call yourself independent when your official language, political system, monetary policy, culture, educational system has been heavily designed and photocopied from people that destroyed you in the first place. You're not independent when your strength comes from others/outside, not inside, from you.

The day any African country can survive just like Russia and China who has been sanctioned to death by the west who seems themselves as earthly god, on that very day, we have achieved independence. The day we can lock our borders and not get anything from west through importation (autarky) and still stands, just like Russia, is when we have achieved true independence.

Most country except maybe six globally grew outside the western hegemonic order, hence no matter what the west does to them, they simply cannot go down, and they are hated for that.

Your politicians knows this very dark fact, I also assume they are hopeless in it, and just choose to embezzle instead. Foreign powers way stronger than regional and national powers pull the strings from a global level. Africa has never had a leader in the league of Stalin or Mao, all we have are rulers. Foolish rulers that don't know what leadership and true independence is.

Sorry for being the carrier of bad news, but unless a slave knows that he is a slave, he will never plot his freedom. Africa must undergo another series of true independence and flush off cesspit democracy once and for all, because no third world country will ever grow under such system. It was not designed to.

Right now, the youth that should fight the system and rescue themselves from this imposed slavery their parents couldn't destroy are all on social media trying to gain followers lol, addicted to porn and gambling, chronic womanisers, alcoholic and ashawos lol. But still, I recognised the system stacked against them, making them survive in such a humiliating way. Na person wey chop belleful de fight for freedom.

If you want to truly swallow the redpill, then this is it. In a nutshell, you're surviving (not thriving) in a system created for you by the west. Like a zoo lion, you're merely a sentient for exploitation, and you do not control the realities of your existence.

The west does not stop our leaders from doing what is within their ability. What I wrote is not a justification for bad governance, I'm sure you understood it in that sense, I'm merely pointing out the realities of global politics from an historical perspective.

Lots of countries with even lesser gdp and resources available to Nigerian government utilised it well, they did their best, putting Nigeria to shame. Having said that, my aim saying all these is to wake other lion who are fast asleep, to understand what's going on, and the kind of world they were born in.

There is no panacea unless the international order (global leadership) changes. We are in a very complex, extremely hopeless, and almost impossible situation. I talked about compound wealth all the time, and it's a best friend or your worse enemy. The formula of compound wealth is that it would reward your work, either good or bad.

So since Africans have been under captivity for over 400 years (judging from when the first slave ship arrived in Africa in 1619), our complacency and inability to defeat the west have compounded favorably to them, and negatively to us. Compound wealth is exponential, it's like how you get a huge tree even if you plant a single seed.

So imagine all that we could have become for hundreds of years, and instead, we went backward. It is almost impossible. We have been chained and locked. Let me give a scenario of how worse it is. Imagine we are a one-week-old orange plant, and the west is a farmer, they will never water it, or expose it to sunlight and photosynthesis, instead, they will uproot it. It is exactly what they did when they killed Gadaffi, Sankara, Lumumba and co. When they were silent during the killings at lekki toll gate, and many more.

But there is a tiny way out, but we won't reach there with cesspit democracy, democracy is a scam, it's too flawed. For example, a sheep might not be able to protect itself from a hyena, but if the sheep are protected by humans, then the hyena will have to defeat the human first before it can kill the sheep. The sheep is Africa or the third world, the hyena is the west, and the human is the new challenging superpower, which is China.

So we must understand power politics, and play accordingly, to ally with powers capable of defeating the west such as Russia/China duo (this is what Assad did hence he is still alive and Syria getting back to normal), Sadly, we don't have good leaders and our political system makes it easy to infiltrate. Democracy is so useless that if for example, Buhari is doing what the west doesn't want, they will sponsor and fund an idiot that will do everything they want will billions and return it to the status quo, a good example is Ukraine and Zelensky, or when they sponsor Blaise Compaore and killed Sankara, which Compaore then undo every progress Sankara did in Burkina faso.

A one-party political system such as the one practiced in Singapore and China is the way. Just like a CEO of a company takes a company from zero to a billion USD, leadership is not something you change every four years. No leader can achieve anything within four years. Even if Peter Obi is elected, he cant not undo all the mistakes of Nigeria for over four hundred years in eight years. Democracy is flawed. Only in democracy will ancestors like Tinubu win because he has money. Democracy is a system for the rich and famous to rule.

Democracy also equalizes the vote of intelligent scholars like Soyinka and a northern almajiri that will sell his vote and future for a plate of tuwo and tea and will vote for useless reasons such as he is a Muslim or he is from my village. And in a country where over 80 percent are undereducated, it is easy to get their vote. Democracy is a new political system that was enforced on all colonized country and lots of respectable philosophers criticized it in the past, and they were killed for that, I think Socrates was killed due to his criticism of democracy.

Africa needs a leadership league from the ground up, that will carry the affairs of the country like a CEO without cutting their time in office like how democracies do and disrupting progress by electing an idiot after four years. But for that to happen, expect the west to come to bomb us and return us to the status quo, they won't let that happen, so we must ally ourselves with other powers, like how a sheep seek protection from human, because the only thing a monster fears, is another monster. Either we become a dangerous monster (eg have ICBMs like North Korea that can reach any part of the globe), or ally with those that have it. This was what China did in 1949 with the soviet union before they could stand on themselves.

You have a good analogy. I equally enjoyed how you attacked the loopholes of democracy. I was discussing with a friend this eve, I told him our problem in this country especially the Southern part of Nigeria, is that we cherished so much the kind of education the West bequeathed to us while the North despise it and align most with their Islamic studies, which favours them most during electioneering; using Western education for penetration when necessary. Sequel to what the West did to Africa, in a wholistic approcah till we erode every systems they bequeathed to us, we will always be their pawn. Behave like the Northern elites that gauged western excesses to their educational system while we develop indigenously and then set up laws that will equally promote such environment. It will be a win for us.

Nonetheless, the political will is DOD because of the primitive accumulation of wealth that have bedeviled their psyches. Even the weak wills are attacked just their GEJ - Ajaokuta steel.

It is these obvious reasons the West is always at loggerheads with Communist states (who chooses to be truly indigenous and independent) because the evil which the perpetuate with democracy is not obtainable. Hence, the constant mispresentation of the communists acts with the aid of their media.

The picture below is a succinct pattern of how the West presents their friends as against their perceived foes.

I have not even attacked democracy yet, I have closely studied the flaws of democracy and I have reached a conclusion that democracy can only work when the countries are already fully developed such as in scandinavia. Anything short of that is kidding. Let me shock you a bit. The so-called beacon of democracies (eg US, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, etc) never developed with democracy, they colonized, raped, and robbed the world for centuries, even up till now, but they mask it with democracy and tell you to follow it. How stupid are we?

Democracy is like how a thief will rob at night but calls himself a Christian. Then tells other Christians that are not thieves that they are poor because they aren't Christian enough for God to bless them. For example, China, a nondemocratic country is the only superpower in modern history that grew from zero to a superpower status without bombing a single country, raising an amount of x4 Nigerian population (800M people) out of poverty, without robbing no one, but the west wants you to hate them and call them dictatorship.

Nigeria and Africa will NEVER grow with democracy, there is just no way to sugarcoat it. I know the leaders know this, but politics is a game of power, they know the fate that awaits them, and hence they just stick to the status quo. As the decades roll by and the world deepens in multilateralism, then you will see countries moving away from that system and political groups in hibernation springing up from all corners, and the dawn has arrived. Democracy is a scam.

Remember that friend that will tell you shit about someone, then later you find out that it was all a lie and a ploy to cover their own fault, especially when they've gravely offended you (eg saying shit about you), and that person they talk shit about will expose them?

Refuse to let yourself be used. Did you arrive at your opinion about these leaders by yourself or by western sources? If you know China before Mao won the civil war, you'll see that Nigeria of today was far better than China when Mao took over. Mao and the CCP saved China, it's an historically uncontested fact.

Go to Zhihu.com (Chinese version of Quora or ask.com), then use Google translate and interact with the Chinese yourself. I made lots of Chinese friends this way. Let them tell you about Mao, hear from the horse's mouth, and not western sources.

Do you expect the west to praise Mao after he chased them out of China, recovered Hong Kong from the British that was stolen for a hundred years, Macau from the Portuguese, recovered Manchuria from the Japanese and now Taiwan is on the line to be reunified?

In the 70's, China couldn't even afford to build a expressway without sewing millions of clothes for western countries, but fast forward to 2022, they put a man in space and is the world largest economy, building infrastructures all over Africa. Mao, a man that saved China you have a negative view of? Lol.

I wished such a leader existed in Nigeria, you probably would be living far better than now. I'll tell you a secret that every leader knows. It's simple. They are above the law. Just as religious books are written for Christians to follow, civil law is for civilians, and leaders will break it if needed to advance the interest of their society. Mao did exactly that.

Mao alongside Stalin may have done lots of wrong, but the Chinese and those well vast in Chinese history knows it was not intentional, but a necessary mistake, e.g. the about 20 millions Chinese that died in the farming due to western blockade, a price that made China self-sufficient in food today. China paid the price for their freedom, hence they are free and thriving.

About Stalin, he paid the price of destroying nazism from Europe by losing twenty million soldiers, and if you love freedom, you owe these men a debt that can never be paid. If not because China and Russia got their act together to be a stumbling block to the west, the slavery your ancestors went through would be nothing compare to the sorrows that awaits you. You think the west are your friend? I weep.

So my guy, learn to think for yourself. What I've written is not to teach you anything, but to make you think and be conscious of structures that exist in the background that make you think a certain way. Also known as metacognition, to understand why you think the way you think.

True freedom comes from the mind first or as Bob Marley puts it, "emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind".

This is true, and there are lots of examples to support it. I'll list a few.

For example, the Nigerian communities in the west especially the US are known as the most educated and amongst the wealthiest groups, but this data glossed over one important part, and it is that the Nigerians in question are first generation immigrants.

Those ones that are called "fresh off the boat", or "booty scratchers" lol. These sets were hungry for success, calling up all the strength in them since they are faced with impending challenges such as permanent legal residency, finances, integration, establishment and so forth.

But after they've overcome these hurdles and started having kids who didn't face such challenges, their kids who are privileged just became regular Americans without the drive, hunger for success and ambitions their precedents had.

Furthermore, your point is supported by the widely recognised book that explains the states of most regions in the world titled "Gun, Germ and Steel" by Jared Diamond. The author posits that geographical realities are the basis for the evolution of human societies. The more deprived the societies are, the more likely they will be successful since they won't rely on nature, but on their ingenuity to thrive.

And if you observe our world today, this is self-evident. The global north is the most developed (Europe, North America aka the west), while the global south is not ( aka Africa, South America) . You can literally eat an orange and throw the seed on the floor, come back in a year and you have an orange tree in many places in the global south.

The warm weather, abundance of resources necessary to thrive, and relatively low population (pre 1900s) made it unnecessary for exploration in the global south, which made us content and coexist with nature. Also you'll observe that Europeans enslaved Africans in plantations such as Brazil, then ship all the produce to Europe. The South is naturally rich, simple.

This is not the same for Europe. In winter for example, the weather will kill you if you do not have shelter. Lots of homeless people are frozen to death during the peak of winter and it's not news. You may be broke in Europe for example, but you can hardly be homeless. Homeless shelter are everywhere for you to crash.

When I just arrived in Europe during my first semester, the warning our uni gave to international students back then was to not get too drunk and can't find our way back home after clubbing, because we can literally die, no capping. When you're drunk, it's like Anastasia, you don't feel the cold until you die.

In the dead of winter, nothing grows. Supermarkets in Europe are filled with foods from all parts of the global south. Bananas, pineapples, and coconuts are all imported. It's why the eu has almost no taxes on foods coming from Africa, and the few areas they invest heavily on, so we can export to them.

Another example would be the docility of a tiger in captivity to the one in the wild. The wild tiger usually is smarter, agile, cunning and brutal, just because his life is on the line. He has to be that way to survive, he has no choice. It also explains why nomadic groups are far more brutal (Eg the Fulanis) than others.

So yes, I actually agree with you. If Africa wants to get it right, we simply can not ignore the realities of geographical limitation, and build from there.

Hmm, wisdom. I think your comment explains "The paradox of plenty" - where countries or geographics with abundant resources tend to have low level of development compared to places with fewer resources.

Yes it's like that. There is a saying that

"Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times".

You see when you're born with a silver spoon, all your survival senses are tamed. You become docile and moral, and see the world through such lense, until reality hits you in the face.

It's why it's easy for yahoo boys to scam these white people, they have never lived under existential threat all their lives, have a good heart, and assume the same for the rest of the world.

People are only as moral as their survival. When your survival is under threat, at that point, you'll know if you're a good person or not. Take covid for example.

people are buying everything and loading on stocks and weapons to prevent neighbours from showing up lol. In the US where gun ownership is legal, you'll be shot for trespassing, even if you did not come to beg or steal food.

Europeans lived all their lives with a sense of lack, a threat to their survival, hence they have to do whatever it takes to be on top. For example there are areas in Nigeria and Africa with no trace of modernisation and civility.

No electricity, roads, hospital, even coca cola. No phone network mast, TV, etc. Many don't even know they are in a country called Nigeria, as far as they are concerned, they know that they are under some village and identify with it. And they survived, because our climate and soil is good.

Not in europe. You'll die, to put it simply. Technology has to penetrate deep into its interior because the winter will teach you a lesson if you don't make provisions for it. So you see, you can't compare the temperament of Africans and Europeans.

One lives in constant existential threat, while the other does not, a reality that shapes their outlook of the world. Just look how fragile Europe is now, they are facing an existential threat as Russia is cutting off oil to them, and winter is coming.

If they don't solve this issue before the peak of winter comes, they will suffer no caps. Especially Germany. This should give you a sneak peak while the Europeans have been so brutal trying to be on top, because it's a matter of their survival.

They will rather you call them evil than not existing at all. Their survival is first before morality. That's the way of the world. So if you don't make yourself strong and tough, others that are will use you as a beach to go on top. That's how the game goes.

Jordan B Peterson latest interview with Micheal Yon a war correspondence, is an eye opener of the worsening global relations and the adverse effects it will have on third world countries like Nigeria if our leaders don't become extraordinarily proactive.

Learnt a lot from the podcast

I am done watching it, and to some extent, I am quite disappointed by the general theme of their discussion which is centered around ''China bad, west good''. They see others through their western lens which is heavily biased and subjective. They focus more on the ''outcome'' of things, not the ''why'' of it.

I think JBP should just focus on psychology, he is doing really badly at political discourse. And his over-usage of profanity and anger toward things he disagrees with just kinda reduces the esteem I hold him in. Let me know what you think and we can discuss it. There is more I have to say, but I start with this on first.
