That's why subsidy should go.

But we don't want to pay the market price for petrol so we keep feeding the corrupt in return for 40 naira fuel.

Modified

The only way to stop the stealing is to remove subsidy and let everyone sell fuel at market price. That way we even get more benefits...raised income, raised investment in refineries, etc.

Let's starve the subsidy cabals.

Why are they saying this now?

They should find something else to say. Many companies listed are known to the general public. Matrix is an established oil and gas company. Or maybe they just want to make headlines to show they have working members in the legislative chambers. undecided

Should importation of petroleum products continue?

Why are they silenced on this all this while?

They should the chambers to one. Maybe they will take their works serious.

Once subsidy stops, it would make refining at home more profitable....and by extension, importation would end eventually.

(Also, anyone importing fuel too should source for his or her own dollars, or pay for a refinery)

We have identified 5 companies. Why couldn’t CAC identify these companies?

Master energy is popular in the south east
Vitoil is Russian based in Swiss
Trafigura is Swiss-based trading firm

Sometimes, we need not absorb everything they dish out for us.

The level of corruption going on in this country is astronomical. Nothing will happen to the unknown companies. And the case will be swept under the carpet as usual.

Until we start executing corrupt politicians like in China, the mindset of stealing public money won't change.

How are those companies unknown? Also, most of them are offshore companies that have been doing business with Nigeria for years.

The current minister of Petroleum Resources in nigeria is the our president,I wonder if buba is not aware of what is going within the ministry. This is a big shame that a country with enough natural resources especially Petroleum cannot account for what is going on within Petroleum ministry.
