The All Progressives Congress(APC) in Cross River North were dealt a heavy blow today in Cross River North Senatorial District, following the defection of Thousands of its members.



The epoch making event which took place at the TTC field, Igoli Ogoja LGA, witnessed the official defection of former members of APC from the 5 LGAs in Cross River North, pledging allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)



Leaders of the various groups, spoke onbehalf of their groups, announcing their decision to join the umbrella party, stating that Sen. Jarigbe Agom has proven beyond reasonable doubt to them that PDP was a better platform with opportunities for all to thrive.









Receiving the defectors to PDP, various leaders of the party, took turns to give brief remarks.

Speaking at the event, Barr. Effiok Cobham, Former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, thanked the decampees for waking up to reality that APC was a sinking ship. He urged the decampees to get to work and produce results.


Barr. Vena Ikem, PDP Cross River State Chairman, said the decampees were wise to reject the deception of APC. He welcomed them to the party and promised equal opportunity to all.

Senator Representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Dist. Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, received the decampees officially to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). He commended them for their bravery and open rejection of APC in their respective LGAs, Senatorial District and state in general.






He added that the Party will be giving the state a Governor who understands the yearnings of the ordinary man and won’t disappoint in service to Cross Riverians.

“Cross River North will continue enjoying the dividends of democracy in terms of infrastructure, bills, empowerment and other interventions.” He said


The defectors amongst others are; Mr. Ugbada John Brown (Secretary of Ayade Reality Group), Mr. Ogar Jacob Ugbada aka Clinton (Rt. Hon. Regina Anyogo Liaison Officer), Mr. Odey Fireman (an APC Exco member in Okuku ward), Labour Party House of Representatives candidate, Prof. John Brown.
