My theory - Intimacy with spouse is where there is equality . The poor enjoy it as much as the rich. Its probably the most enjoyable moment in a poor persons life since he cant go and play golf. Family planning requires some enlightment and some money and when both are lacking that's poverty - its a vicious circle.

(2) Cultural tradition (polygamy; the desire for a boy-child)
(3) Religion ("children are a gift"; "go forth and multiply; polygamy (again))
(4) Lack of employment opportunities
(5) Too much time of the hands: Nigeria offers so few outlets for her citizens (both rich and poor) channel a lot of their emotions into sex and all its entails

God is great and we should be thankful for whatever he gives if he denied them money and gave them children is it bad! they reason s one they have a lot of time to enjoy each other, they lack TVs like the rich so to the wife the husband is is the TV and the reverse is true to the husband.

poor people do have many children because they love poverty. they know that many children will keep them in poverty,yet they go ahead having them.

because if any one child dies at young age due to diseas or lack of food, they have others who can take place. my mother had seven siblings.
