Catholic Community Denied Access Into Their Place Of Worship by Okobola146: 7:40pm On Aug 09, 2022
Breaking!
THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF ABU ZARIA KONGO CAMPUS (ST. AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO CHAPEL KONGO CAMPUS) WERE YESTERDAY DENIED ACCESS INTO THE MULTI- PURPOSE HALL WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN CELEBRATING MASS FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS.

The Mass was celebrated outside when a directive was received from the office of the Director instructing that the Church returns the letter of permission to worship in the wall that was issued to them 15 years ago until when a permanent site is approved for them.

15 years down the lane, no permanent site, now, the hall has been denied.

We call on the University management and the Nigerian Government to either approve the permanent site or reopen the Hall for their Worship.

Right to Worship is the fundamental human right of every Nigerian.

In a Federal University as ABU, such act is an uncivilized manner of treating Nigerian Citizens.

Pray for the Church in Northern Nigeria.
The Church of Christ shall continue to March on in Jesus Name. Amen!

This should be pursued through all legal means, including involving a lawyer and the media.

Stuffs like this should no longer be tolerated or taken lightly.

Before we point accusing fingers, questions should be asked.

No one can just stop the church from holding mass in a federal school but it's in Kaduna so I won't be surprised, but.....

1. Is the school in session with this strike now?
2. Has the director written to the chapel to relocate prior to this info??
3. Was there any clash with a rival group?
4. Is the director a jihadist? (This is the most important question).

I'm an atheist, but I always hate it when anyone is restricted from their right to faith, I have the right to avoid religious stuff and no one will force it on me totally, same way Kabiru has the right to pray as many times a day as he wants, same way James can hold service where he has been doing peacefully for years without breaking the law.

They should provide an alternative immediately to them unless it's an act of hate as usual.
