Wike didn't cast all the votes in Rivers. Rivers people did.

Haven't we seen sitting governors not performing in elections in their states?

Wike's camp is now hugely disintegrated, especially due to his choice of a successor, and ofcourse, his overbearing attitude.

Members of Wike's inner circle in Rivers are meeting with Atiku. Wike can't do it alone.

You have to also know that Wike is leaving office, and so many of his allies would be realigning to remain relevant beyond 2023.

Betrayals are usually unprecedented in this season. Recall what his man, Tambuwal, did to him in front of the world.

So as Wike is working, these other people are working too. Don't forget they are in PDP as well. Rivers people would not just dump the PDP because Wike says so. Let the Amaechi story refresh you.

Wike is playing God and fooling around without strategy. We saw that glaringly in how he contested and lost the primary. He doesn't have the right to compel Atiku to use him as VP candidate.

If anyone told him he wouldn't win the primary would he have listened? Was he not going about bragging about how he can never step down or be running mate to anybody?

My guy, Atiku na political old war horse o. E no be Wike mate. He'd rather loose the election that be humiliated by Wike.

Atiku could even explore a worst-case-option of collapsing the PDP by striking a deal with Asiwaju to keep his business empire running.

Atiku's businesses are what matter to him the most. How? You may ask. Why has Atiku left Wike to carry the PDP all this years without concern? Does Wike have more financial resources than Atiku?

Do not forget that Atiku and Tinubu have been associates for decades.

Atiku's challenge in the South will become insurmountable if Oyo State governor who is also opposed to Atiku, cuts a deal with Tinubu.

Tinubu is a deal maker. If necessary, he will sacrifice Oyo APC governorship election for the PDP Governor's re-election.

Once Oyo Governor (the only PDP governor in the SW) is on side, it will weaken PDP across the entire SW.

In fact, Tinubu must do a deal with the Oyo Governor otherwise he won't get up to 60% of SW votes.

As things stand today, PDP (Atiku) can win Ondo, get up to 40% of votes in Oyo, Ogun, and Osun. Those who assume all those who have voted PDP all their lives will suddenly change and vote for Tinubu are mistaken.

Many voters are very tribal about their party. Many PDP local leaders in the SW are hungry after nearly 8 years of APC. They are desperate for a PDP federal govt in order to get back to sharing the national cake. It won't matter to them whether the PDP presidential candidate is Kanuri or Togolese. Their pocket, not Tinubu's ambition, is their priority. They will marshall their followers to vote PDP.

So, Tinubu must get Seyi Makinde on side.
