Go to settings,activate your mi account with your email,
That's all,
In case of any mishap,you can remotely lock the device and activate lost mode,

You did well to dash them the phone, that's your only chance of recovering it.

My Redmi 10 was equally stolen about 3 weeks ago, I activated my MI account.
When I login using the web I can't see where to lock the phone

This is very important. I was lucky I did. It turns out Xiaomi has very strong security. My sec fone got missing January and I found it 2wks ago. I was called to the police station.
It turns out the guy has been trying to unlock the phone and he couldn't till he met the last engineer that set him up and got him arrested.
After my fone went missing. I locked the fone online and also sent a message to the phone screen inputing my numbers too should anyone find it, he should call. The engr saw the msg on d lock screen and knew it was a stolen fone. He set him up with the police.
When I unlocked the phone everything was already wiped though but I have backup on Xiaomi cloud. Gallery, notes and all.

Once you activate lost mode,
You can put in your details to be contacted if they try to unlock it,
It's as solid and effective as iCloud lock and you can monitor the exact location,house the phone is at any time.
