ijawcitizen: Oga do not go there. Eastern Region didn't even start receiving income from Oil from Oloibiri until 1965 and the funds was used to build PH refinery. Mind you there was massive investments in PH area with TransAmadi which was conceived as a Massive industrial layout thanks to M.I Okpara. Again after Igbos the biggest beneficiaries of Eastern region scholarship was Ijaws after that Ibibios. Please let us research history before throwing out lies. Coal which was the biggest revenue earner before Crude oil had the proceeds shared equally, there was more investments outside the Igbo hinterland in the eastern region with income from Coal. 8 Likes |

jrusky: Nobody is arguing that but the person whose works yielded the dividends is Peter Obi. He was the one that pushed for Orient to invest in Anambra moreso that the were able to drill in OPL license acreage area and struck oil. 4 Likes |

This has nothing to do with Peter Obi. The area Orient petroleum invested in Aguleri Otu is currently non producing due to conflict with Kogi state rather the oil wells in Ogbaru near Rivers state which Governor Obiano pursued aggressively to stop their wrong allocation to Delta state is what is earning the oil income for Anambra. |

Advocate500:Ignore that illiterate. He is probably a teenager who doesn't know that the bulk of revenue that was used to run the eastern regional government was from tax and not oil as the oil industry hasn't taken off then. Notice his penchat for attaching oil ownership to ijaw while ignoring the several other ethnicities in the Niger-delta. 3 Likes |

seunmsg: Thats not how things work in a federal system or a federation. Federation is marked by 'resource control', meaning that the federating units take the bulk of whatever is realised on their land and pays the federal government at the centre an agreed tax Nobody on earth will join a system where 87% of his money is "shared" 4 Likes |

focus2727: That is still daylight robbery no matter how you look at it. Where have you heard that someone receives less than others a share of his own money? So you give the owner of the resources 13% first. then you share the other 87% between the 3 tirs of government? Why should the federal take more than me? Can you imagine if you had to pay 51% of your own salary to federal government as tax? 3 Likes |

obyno82: Orient never discover any oil in Anambra basin. Shell and co where the ones that discover oil and gas in Anambra basin. Shell only allow orient to have access to the oil well because shell is only interested in gas reserves which they are working to start exploring soon. Beacon and the wells have been marked even before Peter Obi was born. Before Anambra and Nigeria were created. 1 Like |
