Are you not amazed that the ship could not be detained in Nigeria? It was little Equatorial Guinea that detained it. Can't you think critically?

Hmmm, Peter Obi has got plenty of work to be done. Crude oil theft is a major issue affecting the country's revenue.

ImadeUReadThis:

How can this be possible without connivance of govt and security outfits?

A 300,000 ton oil tanker lifting oil from an offshore filling point ?

They just waltzed over to the dispensing point and filled their tanker full and left like that?

Who are these people fooling?

The minister , the NNPC executives , Naval security all have a hand in this.

No country can be this incompetent. This is an inside job.

Period!

Only Peter can rescue this country, so help him God.

[quote author=Throwback post=115796790]They will find that those who claim to be looking for missing oil are the patrons of those stealing it.

Corruption is the foundational cell on which Nigerians transact business.

Many are currently employed because of a pseudo economy created by corruption.[/quote/]

True that! A lot of the estate construction in Lagos and Abuja is funded with corrupt money. It's why property prices in VI, Oniru, Ikoyi, Lekki make no sense.

They didn't steal it... They gave it to them to help sell and deposit the money in their offshore account.

Reasons they hate PeterObi, knowing fully well that their looting spree will be over.

There's absolutely no way these guys can be so bold to come to nigeria with this kind of huge oil vessel to steal crude oil without collaboration from politicians in govt. How come the nigerian navy that's boasting of totally eliminating sea pirates in nigeria's waters couldn't even locate this vessel before sailing out of nigeria's waters?

Re: Equatorial Guinea Detains Large Vessel Accused Of Stealing Crude Oil In Nigeria by Litmus: 8:59pm On Aug 17, 2022
Those praising Guinea and badmouthing Nigeria, what part of this did you find confusing:

According to Maritime Executive, reports from the counties say Equatorial Guinea arrested the vessel contending that it illegally entered its water without permission as it sought to evade the Nigerian forces.

Essentially:

Nigeria maritime security did it's work , it detected suspicious activities, the ship ran off, Nigeria gave chase. The tanker probably tried to use international law as a means of preventing Nigeria. When the tanker entered Guinea waters, Guinea that was in contact with Nigeria and corporating, used the international law guidelines on territorial waters to, essentially impound the oil tanker. This now enables all concerned to investigate the matter....
