Aren't you simply picking on the religious here? Surely, you are aware that your political class spends so much more than all that combined each year traveling abroad, even for their campaign meetings, medical trips, and sending their wards to schools abroad and what not.

Religion is just one part of the problem that is Nigeria. The mentality of the people is what is at the root of it all.

That is on a national level, I bet you don't want to know the effects of that on the family level, it has made many not to cross the poverty line and it's not as if the money was never made but it was spent on religious grounds with the promise that more will definitely come in miraculous way even if God has no need for it, reason why MOGs and SOGs are living large at the expense of their followers.
