Thank God it is not "to launch" this time because we are tied of future hopeless hope.

"Federal govt to launch"

Thanks to president Donald Trump who was the 'sababi' used for this.

Jakumo:
If criminal records are shared nationwide in Nigeria, there is a possibility that Nairaiand will lose some of its most respected "elder statesmen" who will be forced to go into hiding over their criminal records being combined to show the grand total wayo and wuru-wuru played, residential burglaries perpetrated, carjackings carried out, the full listing of all stolen property they received, together with a tally of all bank fraud arrests suffered.

Nairaland is an anonymous forum, most everyone here is anon including you grin

Only people using their real info on here are those with nothing to hide

This is beautiful and long overdue. Problem is that the Nigeria Police has a history of arresting innocent citizens wrongly, this should be seriously looked into before some innocent persons names will enter the wrong register.
Exactly, they can even collect bribe to upload a criminal record to one's profile.

Funny people, how many police stations, NSCDC offices, NDLEA offices get computer not to talk of network? Do they even keep records manually? How will it work?
True. They need to invest massively into ict before this can work.

Ha ha suffice to say Oga Seun knows the geographical address of every contributor to this forum within a precision of 3 feet, and could even select the option of viewing the ugly mugs of EVERYBODY who writes to this forum, using a simple mouse click.

Additionally, law enforcement and anti-terrorist agencies worldwide document the physical location of every single writer in political forums whose subject matter could become a security concern. For those who use laptops with cameras, pictures can be taken REMOTELY of the typist behind each "anonymous" forum pseudonym. For the average Joe who has no intention of instigating terror or committing financial fraud online, there should be no worries about one's identity and exact geographical location being known to governmental agencies and discussion forum administrators like the Always Mighty Oga Seun of the Nairaland fame.

Conversely, anyone with less than legal intentions online has good reason to be paranoid because they ARE being watched and tracked around the clock. Depending on the immediacy of the security threat any given internet writer is deemed to pose, the option to administer immediate sanctions can be applied with the convenience of armed drones that launch precision "Flying Ginzu Knives" missiles in virtual silence.

The police will turn this into a business enterprise.

Even if your arrest is illegitimate, they will threaten you with putting your name in the database and intimidate you into parting with a huge sum of money for them not to do it.

Well at least you are aware that FAILURE to do as weekend concern for police is a serious offence punishable by fine or jail.
