Barcelona came out of a quick and easy financial culture under Josep his former president Maria Bartomeu, but in the last two years nothing was left to improve the club's finances.

Bartomeu was famous for yielding to players' demands and creating a code that allowed generous bonuses. Now Barcelona are going a different route under Joan Laporta.

According to Sport, Barcelona will impose a 10% pay cut on the player if he does not attend his event for promotion. This clause applies if he misses three events during the season. It also stipulates that players will use social media while on the job, but details were not disclosed. Restrictions during training, before and during matches, or at club camps are included in the player's contract.

Not only have Barcelona taken more financial responsibility, but they have spent the last 18 months restoring discipline at the club. Manager Xavi Hernandez, moving away from the word discipline itself, emphasized the importance of set-pieces in his first press conference.
