hopefulLandlord: Yes, and so does the books and sayings of atheists advocating death and persecution of those who did not believe as they did...like Athiest leader Stalin... Yahweh once told the Israelites to kill all Midianites but keep young virgin girls as war booty. This sounds wrong to us but whatever Yahweh commands is wise even if it looks wrong in our limited knowledge he has his reasons Yeah, because society back then was messed up. Tribes and regions attacked other tribes and regions a lot. Nothing like the UN, or the League of Nations to mediate. And besides, societies back then on capturing the girls, would have raped them, and then turned them into slaves. The girls were to be turned into wives. A step up from slaves. (For a brutal way of how conquest worked in those days, check out how the Assyrians dealt with their captives. Not funny. Don't read the bible for that...the bible writers wrote with the assumption that everyone knew how bad the Assyrians were....). It was not fair, but for that society...fair for its day. Yahweh figuratively destroyed Saul for not totally destroying the Amalekites Yeah because the Amalekites were repeatedly invading and making things difficult for the Israelites. Remember what I said...the world then was a brutal place to live in. Dog eat dog then. Nowhere was peaceful. (There is a reason why people celebrated the Roman empire..for the first time, someone could travel from point A to b without worrying about outbreak of war... Yeah, Yahweh should have made it better...but that would have invloved taking over our free will to choose. Plus, Saul was not destroyed for dealing with the Amalekites. The tragedy of Saul is that of a man who in essence was wrapped up with being the King...when that is taken away from you, you get depressed. A stronger man would have accepted his fate, and mentored the new king David. Saul did not, and it destroyed him....(The evil spirit from the Lord tormenting him is a classic description of depression.) Like someone I knew once said...God rejected Saul from being king...not Saul as a person. But Saul's issue was that he had become too wrapped up with the identity of being the King...that he forgot that it was not his own title. The Amalek situation exposed the man he had become. Yahweh once told Ezekiel to eat bread baked with human shiit Yeah, to identify with the people who were being besiged in Jerusalem by the Babylonians, so that he could understand what they were going through, and better present the message God was giving to the exiles in Babylon about sin, and living in sin. Kind of like how the Army makes its trainees go through pain..to understand that war is hell. Same way Yahweh sent lying spirits to Ahab's prophets. This also sounds wrong to us but he has his reasons we aren't privy to and he answers to no one He also sent someone to tell Ahab the truth. Read the story...it is a classic example of a man rejecting good advice because he has made up his mind. You don't have to believe the spiritual aspect...infact Ahab's story is being repeated in many ways. people turn down good advice because some lying spirits have told them that things are good. Like during the MMM ponzi scheme. A lot of lying spirits were around...in human form (lol)..telling people that MMM is good, MMM works. Meanwhile the regulatory agencies, and wise heads were ignored or told to shut up. Then kasallah burst. Or the fat person who prefers messages of body positivity (Not that it is bad, it may be helpful) to hearing someone telling him..you are fat and you need to do something about it. There are many Ahabs who don't want to hear about how they are doing the wrong thing,or going the wrong way (I don't mean how they are not born again and not going to the church every day...but life in general) and who want to hear only what they want to hear. Hearing what you only want to hear can be a powerful delusion, because it keeps you from hearing what you need to hear. That's the lesson from the story of Ahab and the lying spirits... Yahweh also hardened Pharaoh's heart while using that as opportunity to send more plagues and kill innocent people until all firstborn sons of the Egyptians are dead. This also sounds cruel but that's Yahweh showing us his loving power and nobody should question him Different world then. Note that Yahweh played nice first...but Pharoah did not listen...and as such things got too worse. Pharoah did not want to lose such good workers. Like how people are punished, after several warnings , for some crimes. Yahweh struck Onan dead for refusing to cum into his brother's wife's Yes, AND I AGREE WITH YAHWEH...because 1. Onan was meant to get the wife pregnant with a child...that would carry his brother's name 2.That meant that when the time came for Onan's pops to kick the bucket...instead of Onan to get his and his elder bro's share of the inheritance, he would have to share with his first born, who would bear Er's name (that's how they did it back then..weird things. Kind of like how a Japanese person without sons adopts a son of his bro or cousin, so that the name does not die). 3.Lineages were very important back then. Very.Even now, Nigerians talk about having a male child so that the name would not die out...(annoying..but not too long ago we were basically at the fedual stage...) 4.If Onan did not impregnante the woman, that means when Pops dies, he gets two shares of the inheritance, instead of one...and yes, someone could die at any time back then..... 5.That's why Yahweh struck him dead. Greed. plus indirectly wishing his father dead so to speak.... (It also mentioned in the bible that he hated his brother a lot...a lot of issues there.). Now, it sounds awful...but those were the rules then. Yahweh's ways are not our ways. its possible Yahweh instructed Pastor Emmanuel Gbaruko to connive with some people to take the money. Yahweh might have his reasons so we should not use our limited knowledge to judge what a man talking to a being of unlimited knowledge does. Beware not to bring a curse upon your lives and future generations by attacking a true man of Yahweh WELL, considering the verses against stealing in the bible from your own brethren...... |

It's been a long time I stopped judging people on the basis of EFCC declaration because Efcc have been proven over a period of time to conduct shoddy and partisan investigations. If he is guilty let him go in but if innocent let him be vindicated and i.hop3 Efcc will apologize 1 Like |

zigi: Well, innocent until proven guilty. You are making the mistake of thinking that EFCC arresting someone means the person is guilty. No, it's just part of the process of getting Mr R to court where the evidence would be examined and discussed...to reach an appropriate verdict. 1 Like |
