Senate President Ahmad Lawan says the country must tackle corruption to be able to address insecurity. Speaking on Friday at a dialogue on corruption and insecurity in Abuja, Lawan said deploying the military in troubled parts of the country is not enough to address the security challenges facing Nigeria.

The event was organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

“Indeed, this policy dialogue is showing us that to summarily deal with the ugliness of insecurity in Nigeria requires more than the deployment of military might,” the senate president said.

We must look at social and economic vices like corruption, that enable and even propagate insecurity.

“As lawmakers, we look forward to the eventual policy brief that will be shared hereafter to guide the nation’s policy direction in ending insecurity in Nigeria.”

The senate president also praised the military in its fight against bandits Only recently, the president gave a marching order to the armed forces to extinguish bandits, kidnappers and other criminal agents against the state and her citizens, by December 2022,” he said.

“This administration is committed to achieving this set target. Accordingly, the past few weeks have seen security agencies flushing out terrorists from their hideouts in Kaduna Birnin-Gwari axis, Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto.”

Which corruption Mr Lawan? The one your rubber- stamp led-NASS have long legalised that insecurity have became business for everyone to continue to cash out from?

Same corruption prevented you from using your legislative office to keep the executive on its toes as regards its constitutional responsibility of securing lives and property? Posterity will never forgive you. Overfed toad. Corruption & insecurity kill you there.

A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. How can a burglar curb the menace of housebreaking? Constituency Allowance, Wardrobe Allowance, etc. are elements of corruption. Not revealing your salary is corruption. Looking down on your electors as His Imperial Royal Majesty is corruption. Impunity and wilful indifference to burning national issues is corruption. Being silent in the face of a serious challenge mounted against the Leaders of Tomorrow, going to seven months now, is corruption. Aligning with wickedness against the people you begged to elect you into office is corruption. Arm-twisting a hapless winner of a senatorial election to steal his mandate is corruption. Even if you were not Corruption, you're a tenant in the House of Corruption, Mr Senate President. Now, tell Nigerians, where do you start to tackle the problem of corruption in Nigeria?

You have bribed all the courts and all APC chieftains sotey they want to rig primary in your favor and Rob Machina of his mandate..

The world is watching..
