The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, for the people of the South to feel a sense of belonging in the party.

Makinde made this call at the South-West PDP stakeholders meeting with the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The Oyo State Governor, together with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has been tackling the PDP over the National Chairman of the party and the presidential candidate who are are from the North.

However, in his welcome address, he described Atiku as “the incoming President of Nigeria in 2023.”

Makinde’s description of Atiku elicited a loud applause from the PDP stakeholders at the venue of the meeting.

He said, “The truth is that we do not have any issue either with our party or our candidate. If there are challenges they must be tabled.

“We are supposed to give hope to our people, we want them to listen to us.

Our party wants to rescue Nigeria and our candidate is a unifier. He wants to restructure Nigeria

“Eight years of the All Progressives Congress have left us sharply divided. The issue is we must practice what we preach. If we want to unify Nigeria, we must unify the PDP first.

“If we want to restructure Nigeria, we must have the willingness to bring inclusivity to the PDP. Do we have the capacity? The answer is resounding yes.

“The message from the South-West PDP is the South-West is asking that the National Working Committee of the PDP should be restructured.

“We are asking the National Chairman to step down so that the South will be fully included. That is the message.”

Atleast we know Ayu, and he is the Chairman of PDP. Resign or not resigning. That's their problem.

Which brings me to ask.

Who is the chairman of Labour party??

How can i support a party and i will have to be using google to find the name of the chairman of my party, the governorship candidate, the state chairman, the house of representative and all.

What a structureless ipob people association called political party grin grin

The challenge for Atiku is, if the Chairman resigns, Wike's will most likely determine who becomes the next Chairman since that person will come from the South.

Also, what does 'NWC should be restructured' mean? Atiku must know that it means Wike filling the place with those doing his bidding.

So, even if Atiku wins Presidency, Wike and his group will control the NWC, Chairman, and Governor's forum.

Hmm... that'll be the stuff of nightmares for Atiku.

The problem of PDP is not in Ayu's resignation at all but in the new composition of the Party.

If Ayu resigns today, Umar Iliya Damagum from Yobe State becomes PDP National Chair. That is the PDP Constitution unless there is a re-composition of the NWC.

If a Southerner is picked after Ayu's resignation, there surely will be litigations.

We the masses love it like that. Both APC and PDP should go extinct. Labour party is a goal.
