Why Physically Commuting To Office Everyday Isn't Worth The Stress! by harbayo20(m): 8:06am On Sep 22, 2022 |
Like literally, who would still want to be choked up in early morning traffic/hold up in Lagos or Abuja if there's an opportunity to work from home? We should be concerned about HOW we work and not necessarily WHERE we work from. Who's with me? 83 Likes 4 Shares |

I've never worked in an office and my workers work from home Al I do is, I give them tasks, they deliver within the stipulated time and I pay them at the agreed time Why would I spend money renting an office and having to transport myself to the place everyday when I can do everything at home Edit: I know most jobs can't be done from home. I'm a blogger and I have people writing for me from different parts of Nigeria. I'm not talking against renting offices, I just used myself as an example, what works for me might not work for you. 70 Likes 4 Shares |

You are very correct, this should be applicable to city like Lagos .The traffic there is scary. You wake up as early as 4am and won’t get to work till 8 And won’t be able to be back home till 11pm and you expect people to live long?So scary 65 Likes 5 Shares |

Working from home is not as sweet as people cut it out to be.. I can’t even remember the last time I had a conversation with a human other than my girl who comes around once in a while and the lady who buys me groceries.. It’s a very miserable life. 48 Likes 4 Shares

harbayo20:I just discussed this with my sister. Any job that doesn't need you to be there physically should transition to work from home or at least hybrid. Lagos traffic can shorten ones lifespan. It's crazy the stress people are going through daily. Some people wake up as early as 3am, walk several km daily and get home 9pm. Imagine doing that for one year not to mention transport cost and road hazards. 28 Likes 3 Shares |

In my experience, When people work from home, there is no efficiency. You call someone by 8am and he says he's just setting up. Some will tell you stories of how their generator rope broke or how their data is not connecting. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Work from home is more ideal in a country with stable electricity, internet and highly skilled and educated population. Those fundamentals are lacking in Nigeria. Add the propensity for corruption and abuse of power, privilege and process engraved in the DNA of the average Nigerian and you'll see why working from home remains largely a mirage within this failed state. Yes, some few have gotten the opportunity to work from home and they're excelling at it, whether in personal business or under the employ of a company. But those few are outliers from the general population and they possess skills and trainings not possessed by majority of Nigerians 13 Likes 1 Share |

Remote work is the best. I love it... I wake by 3am, get my job done and then 6 am I'm asleep or sometimes watching people scramble to go to work. Having said that, it's not great for every job type... I mean, would you prefer your doctor to work remotely? There's a place for on-site jobs and a place for remote work. Either one you find yourself, be sure to negotiate a good pay while constantly improving your skill. Thank you! 18 Likes 2 Shares

I think I enjoyed my work more while working in the office than now I'm working from home. Maybe it's because I had wonderful colleagues that turned close friends even after 4 years of leaving the job. Also, my relationship with our clients were superb that I can't wait for day break to resume work. Those days, I hate weekends ![]() ![]() 4 Likes |
