One of the councelor's surname is Cookey and not Cooked.
Check and correct.

Opobo men are the finest breed of ijaw men in niger delta.
They are the most gentle and finest of men in Rivers.
Opobo has the highest literacy rate in Niger delta.
Opobo is the most peaceful community in Niger delta and can be the most peaceful in Nigeria.

Opobo has the least numbers of prison inmates in Nigeria.

Their women are beautiful and refined.

Most people say that Opobo men like to chase women alot BUT the truth is that Opobo people are likeable people and are easily loved by many including women so ,it is almost natural for any woman no matter how highly placed to fall in love with Opobo men without even being asked out by these men.
Firstly, they men are well mannered because in Opobo culture, mannerism is embibed.
Secondly, they are mostly educated and polished .. Opobo people are known as the bekes of Nigeria. They behave like the British because of their long relationship with the British cencuries ago ..
Thirdly, they excel in life.. on the average, Opobo people have quality human resource.

Opobo has the highest concentration of professors in Niger Delta.
The first set of graduates from university of Ibadan has many Opobo people.

Over 60 % of the families in Opobo send their kids overseas for studies and this behavior started far back as 18 century when the children of nobles were sent to England to acquire western education through Opobo seaport ofcos we didn't v planes then and every international travel were through seas.

Note:
Opobo people are ibani ijaw stock.

Meaning... Opobo and Bonny are one flesh and blood.
No difference..

Opobo has been speaking Igbo since when they were at Bonny, before the movement. You think you can come here and fool people. You Ijaw revisionists have no shame. Opobo was founded by Jaja of Opobo who was Igbo.

Jaja stopped being Igbo when u igbos sold him into slavery.
Ibani ijaw family of Bonny bought him and acculturated him into ibani ijaw man.
Jubo-jubo-gha....
Does this name sound Igbo to u?

Moreso .. Jaja stool and culture remains ibani till date as the stool is represented by full ibani blood of Mac-Pepple house.
No Igbo blood again sorry...

Igbo language was just a language of trade and nothing more...
Ibani is spoken everywhere in finima, oloma, queens town ,all Opobo and Bonny villages.

Ubani was a city state and fine country and not just ur little village in ur minds eyes

The whole contingent to Opobo were Igbo. The people who Jaja was sold to were Igbo slave traders who were influential chiefs at Bonny.

Ijo men were not involved in slave trading. It was much later after slave trade was abolished that you lots started migrating onshore. You Ijo men were creek dwellers. You never created any strong community

Ijaw were recent migrants to the coastal communities of Niger Delta. Bonny was a settlement founded by Igbo Ndoki people. The whole Island of Bonny was founded and controlled by who took more Igbo slaves from the hinterland. Ijaw men didn't play any role in the running of Bonny

The fact that Bonny and Opobo are Igbo speaking communities is an evident that majority of the people who populate these communities are Igbo. This is why you Ijaw revisionists has been forcing them to revert to speaking Ibani. You people are so desperate you want to force them to deny their Igbo heritage. These people have been speaking Igbo since their existence and suddenly because they opened their land to Ijaw migrants you want force your ideologies on them! It's sad, pitiful and sickening

Opobo indigenes will say his forefathers came from Igbo mainland but they are Ijaw due to political persecution and intimidation they suffered in the hands of Ijaw people who were in power in River state then.

U just stay in ur hinterland to comment on things u know nothing about
...
Men always keep their root regardless..
No matter what happens, a man will always maintain his root and name where ever he goes or settles.
All the names listed up here has no igbo trace, Ibibio trace bit all traces of ijaw which is their root but due to Igbo dream of having a link to the Atlantic, they want to go grab some land...
Opobo and Bonny has no boundaries with Igbo or any Igbo community.

Igbo has always been hinterland...
Located inside the forest far away from the shores....

Ibani men are ijaw and not Yoruba nor Hausa...nor igala or any other tribe.

In the north, Nupe people speak hausa, Jos people speak hausa , kanuri people speak hausa all as language of trade but u can not hear hausa indigenous people claiming kanuris,Nupe or Jos people etc are Hausa people...

Well we all in Nigeria are English speakers so we are all English men and women..
After all we all wrar shirts and trousers..
We are black British lol..
My dear .. enjoy ur illusion

The intentions of the guy doing the interview was clearly to establish that Opobo is Igbo but he got a rude shock when the people told him No Opobo is ibani and not Igbo
The Igbo language is just a language of trade to reach wider people that's all.

Opobo isn't Igbo but ibani ijaw...
It has always been.

Imagine the first and second person telling the journalist that we are not Igbo but ibani ijaw .. the language thing isn't our heritage but a pick up for trade

Those elders are not saying the truth. How can your forefathers be Igbo and yet you claim Ibani/Ijaw as a your tribe?
Their reason for having Igbo as their first language does not make sense. How can aborigines abandone their language and start speaking the language of their slaves if the slave masters themselves were not Igbo?

They never abandoned their language..
Their language is ibani ijaw..
Look at their names , all their names are ijaw names ... Their surnames are all ijaw names.
Go to the north, they all speak Hausa but does that make them all Hausa? No.
Ibb speaks Hausa as a northerner but he is Nupe by tribe and not Hausa...
Igbo was picked up as language of trade
The ibani ijaws traded directly with the Europeans and now take the trades to hinterland..
They had to speak their language..
They hinterland ppl could not speak English so ibani ijaw people spoke in their language, made trade and did not allow them understand or speak with oyibos...don't forget, they were the slaves traded too so u wouldn't want ur slaves speaking or understanding ur language...it's more safet they don't do u don't get issues dealing with them ..
The Igbo slaves were spoken to them in language they could understand which was Igbo while ibani was the language of nobles and free men not to be spoken in public so the slaves never had to pick it ..
If slaves were being searched ,maybe they tried to run ,once such a person is caught,to be certain, ibani would be spoken hence he wouldn't understand then he would be arrested..
Further more, it became a language of trade just like Hausa, English, or pidgin ..
But still till tomorrow, ibani is spoken in Bonny and Opobo.
Go to finima both in Bonny and Opobo, the speak ibani,
Brown house in Opobo and Bonny speak ibani, toby same thing.
All villages speak ibani.
They only place u hear Igbo spoken is on ubani. Becos of trade...
