Self control is what you need if you are struggling with either of the two. Look at the life of a Buddhist monk for instance. They don't believe in a God nor do they really run away from those of the opposite sex or think evil of them in order to learn discipline. No, they simply focus on the issue and tackle it mentally until the issue no longer overwhelms them.

Stop thinking you should use God to cover that which you ought to do in your mind and mental. Employ your brain in understanding why you reason as you do about such things and get to the root of your fixation and cut it at its core.
