No cross road anywhere.
The Yoruba will vote for Peter Obi in large numbers

Falae insists on important parameters

“I did say sometimes ago that the Yoruba, as a people, are not morally obliged to vote for an Igbo presidential candidate because in 1999, when the rest of Nigeria conceded the presidency to Yoruba, because of MKO Abiola’s issue, it was only the Igbo, who did not.

I had to defeat Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife in the Alliance for Democracy to become the candidate for the AD/APP. Olusegun Obasanjo had to defeat Dr. Alex Ekwueme in the PDP to become a candidate.

“The Igbo were the only ones that opposed both of us in our respective parties; they did not concede to us along with other Nigerians".

Southwest is very liberal, coexisting with different ideologies and ethnicity so it's expected .

As for the IPOB apologists and pretentious patriots You'd think these energy used In criticizing APC and Tinubu where they have less interests would be directed to PDP/ Atiku the main opposition party where they have invested so much and has defied the democratic agreement of zoning and stolen their ticket for Atiku, but no they won't do that even their Obi ran away and started claiming saint on social media. I just pity those that don't know what they are supporting. Do we really know the consequences of Atiku winning? A damage has already been done as Atiku emerged as the PDP presidential candidate.
Thankfully Wike is fighting for justice, whilst the political prostitute is leading his people to a dead end .

God help Nigeria.
He HOuld have have been leading them to support tinubu? Rubbish.

Your destiny and that of your so called children will be wretched and damage. A slowpoke who placed the fate of his/her children in the hands of unfortunate politician. If Peter Obi is the messiah why is Anambra state not new-york/London. The Anambra youths he nurtured grow up to be ipob members that are disturbing the peace of the country. You need your brain to be formatted.

Don't kid yourself,Yorubas are not at a crossroad, apart from Lagos which he might struggle to win, Tinubu will win the rest of the south west massively.
Afenifere does not have any clout in Yorubaland anymore.

always start by making my bias very clear,I will vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in February 2023 and yes I have my Voters card ready.
Back to the matter,I hope Asiwaju's aides come to Nairaland to read comments,I think it's time for Us Asiwaju Die hard supporters to be realistic with what will happen Next year.
It's time to start making projections for Next year Elections.
The Task to elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be a battle, and it's time to start fighting Dirty.
The projections are very simple, whoever will become president of Nigeria needs to win only 17 states,I repeat only 17 states.
Asiwaju must be realistic about his projections, the North will betray him so he should stop the very crazy and futile effort of trying to please them.
My own Suggestions is for Asiwaju to concentrate on the 6 South-west states, and humble himself to make a deal with Gov Obaseki,Edo state is the only state that looks winnable outside the areas where ApC has Governors.
He should throw his resources into Cross Rivers and Ebonyi state.
Asiwaju will only be president if he can win at least 9 states in the South.
He should focus on these 4 States in the North Central, kogi,Kwara, Nassarawa and Niger.
For the North West and North East, only a Zombie will think H.E Atiku and Sen Kwankwanso will lose their states to Asiwaju.
He should only focus on winning four states in the North West and East.
Borno,Yobe,Kebbi and Gombe.
Only those 4 States look winnable.
I think Asiwaju supporters should start helping H.E Obi campaign, Peter Obi must scatter Atiku Vote in all the Eastern States and some South-south States.
Obi must win at least 3 states while Kwankwanso must win at least Kano and Jigawa.
This is the only route I see through which Asiwaju can ever become the President of Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria.
you're right, but don't afraid.
Tinubu has already won.
This is three against ruling party,
Three of them will struggle for 60% of the total vote. That is the highest they can get if they had come together, while Tinubu will get at least 40% of the total vote.
North west and south west is sure for Tinubu, 50% sure in north East and North central. and 30% sure in South south.

Yoruba do to others what you want them do for you. Our son Osibanjo is rounding up his tenure as VP, yet we want to still project Tinubu to take over. When SE start playing the games we are playing, you see people turn it into tribalism, bigotry and religion. If South East can't have it in 2023, then let the North continue to keep it until South decide to borrow some sense.
I don’t care who becomes the president as long as is not Obi

Obi should focus on the South, targeting 75% of the votes from the SE and SS, while targeting 25% in the SW (except lag where he would do very very well). He should double up efforts in the middle belt states of Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue and Abuja, as well as the core northern states of Kaduna, Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi which have large Christian populations.

The Muslim northerners that will vote Obi have already made up their minds to do so, and they are not too many. The others won't vote for him, even if he were to shed his blood for them.

But that shouldn't be a problem because APC, Atiku and Kwankwaso will do so much splitting of the muslim north votes that it wouldn't be able to give anyone victory.

nice analysis..

There's no crossroads here for me

If we're against atiku because power must return to the south, Why then vote Tinubu so SHETTIMA can can be in charge. He already said he'll handle security and I guess SHETTIMA will also be the one signing Tinubu's appointments

We're voting Obi cos it makes absolutely no sense voting Tinubu. He's not even around to kickstart his own campaign, yet he's looking for presidency
Southern turn must not be wasted abeg

Nice one. I thought matured minds have all left Nairaland long ago..Any, People think it's all about voting in thier tribe man that will fix the nation or bring them closer to the national cake ..
They should ask the north if they are presently enjoying the presidency they all rejoiced over in 2015.
If Tinubu was strong & healthy like Atiku or Obi ,people would not be too concern about voting for him. But seeing his failing health , is like a Buhari regime about playing itself over again.
Sometimes I think Nigerians should just divide this country, since we refuse to use our common sense to do things right, becos we hate one another . We would rather suffer a sick - frail man to waste another 8yrs of our lives just because he is from our tribe. Sometimes I think Nigerians really deserve their leaders . Apologies to the reason with Thier head.

Your analysis of the likely performance of the front runner candidates in the 2023 election, is top notch.
I do not see any of the candidates having an outright victory in the first ballot.

ATK and BAT will likely slug it out in the second ballot.

POBI will likely emerge as a 'beautiful bride', after the first ballot, in the mould of Nnamdi Azikiwe, in the 1st and 2nd Republic.

POBI will likely decide the winner of the 2023 Presidential election. I see him influencing his followers to vote ATK if no winner emeges in the first ballot.

If you're from SW and you think a Tinubu/Shettima presidency is right after Obasanjo's 8yrs, Osinbajo's 8yrs, please explain your reason to me and other southerners.

If you're from SW and you think Igbos are supporting Obi because he is from SE, do you remember that Chuba Okadigbo was vice to Buhari and they lost in all SE States. OBJ won in all. Also Rochas Okorocha, Orji Uzor Kalu, Chris Okotie and Dave Umahi have contested for presidency. Did you see them getting any support from Igbos even at primary level? Why is it that when a Yoruba person contests for presidency, it is national but when the person is from SE, it becomes Igbo presidency? Please explain what Igbo presidency even means if SE is still in Nigeria.

Lastly, less than 1% of SE-terners are Muslims but they , like other enlightened Nigerians openly kick against a Muslim-Muslim ticket but you from SW with all your sophistication do not even understand the dangers of such leadership in a secular and religiously diverse Nigeria? Remember Hijab saga which only happens in SW even in church owned schools. Please explain to me why you support such a ticket.

Let's assume all things being equal, that in the south there's no Igbo Yoruba or any other group, and everybody in the South has the same kind of bias you have for tinubu, and tinubu and obi are of same ethnic/ religious group, and then his vp from the North comes up with a statement that's exactly opposite of osibanjo's statement, telling us about handling security, ( red flag) I've learnt long ago not to ignore red flag from the north, which is actually the reason I'm still alive today, now the oga we voted for handles economy, whatever, considering our ogas health, per adventure an unfortunate thing happens, infact, an unfortunate thing can be induced to happen, and people will say, ( "anyway we know he's not well"wink where exactly will south be, it's safer to have obi there, a VP is not supposed to be more dangerous than his oga, tinubu can loot money, but his VP has the capacity to loot life

Re: Presidential Election: South-West At Crossroads Over Tinubu, Obi by nnewsnjobs: 3:23pm On Oct 06, 2022
This election is not just between Tinubu and Obi, Atiku is also part of the election.

While Tinubu supporters and Obi supporters are busy fighting and abusing each other, Atiku is busy campaigning in the North for him to make sure he successfully win the majority vote from the North, while he will also share some southern vote from Tinubu and Obi.

The Southern candidates think of themselves too wise, both candidates are under rating Atiku.

It will shock you people to know that Atiku will win the election if you people continue with this type of mindset.

To Tinubu supporters, Obi is their problem, Atiku no get level.
To Obi supporters, Tinubu is their problem, Atiku no get level.

Una eyes go soon clear when Atiku win this election.
