Good day.

I felt compelled to drop this here due to the realities of the current political atmosphere. It is my prerogative to do this just as it is yours to either read it or not.

The electioneering campaigns are well underway and as expected, Nigerians have pitched their tents with the various candidates on the ballot. And, as is typical of Nigerian elections especially since 2015, the atmosphere is becoming ultra charged with supporters trying to "sell" their candidates with whatever means they've got at their disposal.

Now, it is not uncommon to see political supporters use foul language on opposing sides, the only difference this time is the extent to which that is being done. No party has been mentioned here, but even a that, anyone reading this would at this juncture know exactly those responsible for the current situation.

Politics, as has been said even before our grand parents were born, is a game of numbers. This is a truism even in climes, such as ours, where elections are frought with all manner of irregularities and fraud. Thankfully, the situation has improved dramatically since the last election especially with our current Electoral Act. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the politicians to either rig the process or get away with fraud, right from the primaries, so much so that the Senate President himself has fallen victim to his own fraudulent machinations.

From the foregoing, it is very important to sound a note of warning to the Nigerian electorates, especially those who in their minds assume there's no chance their candidate would lose the forthcoming election. The appear to constitute the bulk of electorates active on our social media space, enjoying Likes, Shares, Tweets, and Retweets. They win just about every poll online, and it seems to them this is the reality on ground. Sadly, this is indeed not the case.

They've formed a brigade of bullies of some sort, shouting down any voice that doesn't seem to echoe their sentiments. From Daddy Freeze to Reno to Seun Kuti to Sowore to Deji to FFK to Seun of Nairaland and others too numerous to mention, and now to their latest victim Joke Sylva who has been forced to turn off the comments section or her social media handles just to keep them at bay!! No one is allowed to hold a contrary opinion in their sights, it has to be a one way traffic leading up to their candidate!! These people mentioned above were fan favourites of theirs just months ago! It has become all too glaring, from their conduct, that one of their principal strategy is the total domination of our social media space, leaving us to remind them all the time that elections aren't won on social media.

At no other time than this has it been more imperative to caution these belligerent crusaders to tame their expectations of the forthcoming elections. As it is with every contest, winners and losers must emerge. It is the duty of the losers to take their fall in their strides, perhaps go back to the drawing board, review their strategy where necessary, and subsequently take another shot at victory. Failure to do this could result in such consequences as are being currently witnessed in a once peaceful part of the country which is now engulfed in violence and terror, the South East.

The violence and terror ravaging this part of the country can be traced to the outcome of 2015 election. Those who felt slighted by the outcome couldn't accommodate the reality of their defeat and almost instantaneously became enemies of state, reawakening insurectionist sentiments from a war that was fought even before some of their parents were given birth to. The mass disenchantment that enveloped tha part of the country could almost be felt on one's skin, and some dude by name Nnamdi Kanu saw the opportunity and leveraged on it by presenting himself as the Messiah they've been awaiting all these years. They of course followed him in their numbers and made him super rich while all he has succeeded in doing is make life a living hell for his kinsmen. Today, not a day goes by without stories about killings and brutality in the region.

It is important to take lessons from the past. The fortitude to bear electoral defeat is indeed sacrosanct and must deliberately be sought after. It was the lack of it that resulted in the situation in the East as written above. The South Southerners, surprisingly, handled it alot more humanely, even though one of their sons, Orubebe, almost threw the country into chaos within seconds. Thankfully, fate was on the side of Nigeria.

Today, if the reality on ground is anything to go by, one would wager the candidate supported by these same people is primed to lose the election. This is a statement of fact. I might not know who is gonna win but I'm certain that candidate isn't Peter Obi. Therefore, as advised earlier, it is in the best interest of his supporters to tame their expectations and imbibe some spirit of good sportsmanship. The failure to do this could result in a deterioration of the present situation in their region, because truth be told, none other than themselves have borne the greater brunt of their anti government posturing. Facts are there to see, from ordinary men on the streets to business owners to security agents (who happen to be their brothers as well) to their traditional rulers tagged Sabos. Yet, Nigeria isn't anywhere closer to being balcanised. Something tells me that professor Uju who attacked the person of the late Queen of England has positioned herself to take advantage of the people, just as Kanu did, but I dearly hope they don't fall for it.

So, dear folks, as we approach the main event, reign in your expectations and moderate your hostility. It is an election and not a war. It is a democracy and not a dictatorship, and we all have our rights, just as you do. Understand this and conduct yourselves accordingly before and after the polls.

Thank you.

May God bless the federal republic of Nigeria.

Cc: Seun, Mynd44.

Now you may rain in the insults. They're pretty much expected.

What an incoherent and disjointed gibberish devoid of logic. This one don already throw in the towel knowing fully well that Obi will win with a landslide. BATIKU are the ones fanning violence all over the social media but will quickly turn around to blame OBIdients. Which candidate infamously said he is ready to fight dirty and unleash mayhem to anyone who stands on his way to aso rock? Which candidate said opposition parties will labour to death? If you can provide answers to this questions then I'll take you serious.

Just look at those miscreants above, isnt it funny to watch them?

Someone is trying to engage them in an intellectual political discuss devoid of any hate, aversion, insult, abuses, repulsion, odium and repugnance. But just look at their replies. Silly nuisance that can't hold any reasonable contenentious ,opinionated politics enagagement without insults or turning it into a gbas-gbos affairs by trying to cover up their dumbness and political ignorance.

I don’t support Obi and his noise makers .. knowing they’re not even in the contest ..

When OBi rallies Na 5k humans per rally .. Nigeria elections are not won in thousands.. but millions of vote..

Obi don’t have that’s .. Na Dey reality away from social media

Noise abusing and cursing don’t win elections in Nigeria

But Yoruba people are reaping what they sowed in 2014/15..

They spread hate and bitterness as never seen before in Nigeria politics
They spread propaganda about igbos and mock igbos over Jonathan loss..
the cajole and spread deep propaganda

2022 is time to reap it ..

I’ve always said ..” Yoruba people can’t take what they give “ and will always shout.. but they give their without qualms..

They’ve successfully introduced politics of bitterness and hatred to Nigeria politics and it’s not leaving Nigeria political terrain very soon..

Omenka you were at the fore front of that 2014 campaign

You shouldn’t be the human to write that gibberish even tho you make sense .

But it’s kama ..

As for the Obi losing that’s sure .. but am so sure Obi will congratulate the winner of the contest and will see no qualms about it

IPOB bingos can only set their east on fire .. that’s if Buhari still allow them before elections

East will be bomb by November with Nigeria security apparatus.. IPOB will only make noise online
Already Lota if evidence are daily being gatherd against them detailing killing and do demonic Activities .. so that when their propaganda of killing innocent igbo youths start .. at least government gave them long time .. and the world already heard how evil they’re

Nobody is a threat to national peace

Will a Yoruba man join IPOB to destroy his state
Or will an Calabar man or Benue join IPOB to burn his state
Talk more of northerners

If IPOB bingos want to burn their state .. they’re free to burn their villages .. kill themselves and share their meat

Is a welcome one

Nigeria have grown pass human noise .

Endsar was a terrible lesson learn by all Nigerians

Power to the people

Let me even make this clear to you once and for all. I've seen your mentions here and elsewhere, but you know why I totally ignore you and people like yourself - you're fucking cowards.

You haven't denied spreading hate here and probably elsewhere, but you're too darn cowardly to own it. You and people like yourself hide behind masks to do your dirty deeds. Why don't you use your original moniker to type all the bullcrap you type over here? Or are you ashamed of yourself?

Be that as it may, Peter Obi is sure on his way to defeat and there's no amount of attacks from you IPOB lot that's gonna change that. All you can do is continue to burn down your enclave, slash your faces just to spite Asiwaju. smiley

It's all very well, but you apc supporters are no different either

You and the obidients both need to calm down.

Also people are angry because your party apc promised change..and it has not come.

I dont blame people for being upset. We all knew pdp was awful. Most expected apc to be better. They aren't . So don't start taking the high ground here. People are angry and they have every right to be angry

This is just a reminder so that you prepare for what is coming.

Hopefully you don't die of heart attack when Obi eventually failed. Because it's glaringly clear, he's going to fail

And probably lost a lot of votes as a result.

Plus just as people are angry with buhari now, people were angry with gej then. Gej made some promises and by the end the economy was going downhill. To the point that we were borrowing to pay salaries.

There is a reason why some of us don't trust any Nigerian politician, Obi and Tinubu and atiku included. Buhari especially.
