Shell is stealing because you allowed. Masterclass collusion among state operators, IOCs and international community to benefit a few.
Bubu is also aware but looks away.

It's about time the Navy got a clue. Now the EFCC needs to find out which past and present politicians are being secretly paid to protect Shell.

Is there any sector of the country not operating this way?

What exactly do you mean by Peter Obi said it?

Something that has been going on for decades and everyone who lives in the Niger delta creeks have complained about is what you're attributing to Peter Obi?

Common knowledge is what you're mentioning Peter Obi.

If you have lived in Nigeria long enough like I have, you will have learned that government officials only respond to issues or react when those they consider important speak up or criticize them.

How oil theft plays out would probably have been coming knowledge in Niger Delta, but no top politician from that region has ever spoken up against it probably because they are also beneficiaries.

If I am wrong, show me a link of where a top politician in the Niger Delta criticized top oil majors or government officials of crude oil theft.

However, Peter Obi has been speaking about how oil theft plays out in Nigeria and this is the outcomes of his criticism.

Its a big fat lie from the pit of hell, the Nigerian security forces in conjunction with senior government officials together with the ND militants are responsible for stealing. If shell & co were responsible for the oil theft, restless ND would have started their noise. Shell fully knows about the grand theft but have decided to keep shut so as not to interfere in our local crookedness vis a vis saving saving their profit.

Shell is crippling Nigerian economy and there's nothing our clueless government can do about it

Story!! It's funny that you chose to believe a corrupt military official seeking to deflect blame and attention from the military.

Didn't you see the video earlier in the year when some Rivers State officials entered the creeks and police men who were protecting the criminals were fighting with those that came to arrest them.

So Shell that has a lot to lose via court cases, and fines from their home country is the culprit. But your clueless and incompetent government and security forces are not the problem ba!?

Who could have done it better than Jonathan, the son of the soil? But oil theft was even worse during his tenure when it is being termed "our oyel". Peter Obi was in that government as head of economic team with Okwonjo Iweala as Finance minister and Allyson Madueke as Petroleum minister. All of them couldn't do anything about it, even to pass ordinary Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), impossible! Thank God for Buhari and APC for this unprecedented revelations and headway. PDP was busy doing " share the money". So Obi and Igbos have been giving the chance, they messed it up. Let APC continue the reforms. Na who start am know how to finish am. undecided

The real koko of this renewed anti-bunkering drive is the sale of NNPC to private business interests.

The Private interests were the people who operated this bunkery when NNPC was owned by the federal government. They used Industrial-scale bunkering to enrich themselves and save up money to Purchase NNPC for themselves.

Now that they have bought NNPC, they cannot the bunkering to continue else it becomes a huge business loss. They know the whole pattern and styles to the business and are now actively ensuring it ends.

Peter Obi comments has absolute zero influence on anything.
