The only option to curb this menace of petroleum scarcity is to make our refineries work again. If the govt can rehabilitate and upgrade just one refinery. Why cant we produce pms?
If obi can become president, he will overhaul the petroleum sector. Hand over the sector to private cos it seems the federal handling of these sectors proves inefficient

Basically, the actual cost of fuel at the pump is N492.

The subsidised cost of fuel at the pump is N175.

At the end, the market does not make enough money to pay for the fuel, and the ships refuse to discharge.

It is time to remove subsidy. No ifs, no buts. Let's end the pretence...remove subsidy, and allow the market set prices, pay itself...and use the savings from subsidy to help others.

You want refineries, remove subsidy, let the market set prices, then it would become profitable to refine fuel at home.

I believe Tinubu will try his best. May God Help Us.
.

Oga.
The man is not physically able to handle the stresses of running Nigeria as a sole administrator so he will delegate everything.
I know that, you know that, you have seen it in the Buhari government but pretend not to.
The next question will be, to whom will he delegate?
Answer, the same people that are presently running the government. Who else.?
Is he going to import people from Norway or Singapore.
He will use the same people that are holding him ransome right now and arm twisting him for political support.
And we will end up with exactly the same result as we have had for 7 years.
Same people, same result.

That is why when governments fail, they are cleared out wholesale.
You just cannot remove one or two people and expect different results.
Look at the United Kingdom, 3 Prime Ministers in one year. So much instability because the government remains the same while only the head has been changed twice.

If we cannot understand how democracy works we will continue to gamble and your statement 'I believe' is a statement of hope, of gamble. Democracy is not like that. Democracy is specific, the results and dividends are certain because they are worked out like an equation. And the equation is simple. Failure is punished and success is rewarded.

Sorry, but Mr. Tinubu is in the wrong party, a party that has failed in governance and by democratic best practices the APC should not be re-elected solely based on performance.
Do so, force it and failure will become ingrained, entrenched in the system for years and decades to come.
No one will take performance seriously anymore if they know failure will not be punished and simply overcome by changing the driver.

QED.

I don't believe this story. Vessels carry petroleum products owned by NNPC and if they don't discharge, how will their jobs be completed, how will they get paid?
They dare not withhold govt's products like this, who's gonna pay for demurrage?
They risk the termination of their licences,if they try such, govt should come out with another lie.

Nigeria is blessed in all ramification but we lack good and selfless leadership...

Until All the old men are eradicated from power, Nigerians will keep suffering.

Mind u, we have an Inactive Ajala president.

The APC aspirant want to continue borrowing but why not cut the cost of government and make some savings

Make inventions and start manufacturing or packaging for exportation purpose in other to boost the useless Naira, which will also lead to job opportunities.

Also rehabilitate the transport system which also generate a whole lot of money and send the miscreant by to learn hand work or trading.

Nigeria needs common sense which is not common bcoz the old men refused to leave power bcoz of their selfish interest and entitlement.

Every Nigerian youth is a coward.

Should we be hearing this after 7 years of Buhari as petroleum minister? I honestly thought the reason Buhari refused to have a substantive minister of petroleum was to directly supervise this sector growth. 7 years after, our refineries are still not working, we cannot meet OPEC production quota due to huge oil theft, NNPC is still not able to remit profits etc. Who did we offend that has vowed to punish us for 600 years? angry

will avoid this thread like plaque

Buhari will go down in history as the worst minister of petroleum in the history of Nigeria.

Corruption, Nepotism and lies are the hallmark of his government

You're still here TRYING DESPERATELY to educate the people of the Zoo? LOL, I got tired from the other day. MAYBE I'll join you if I can find the patience. You must love banging your head against concrete walls LOL!

Nigerians just want EVERYTHING for free. Nothing else will make them happy. That's why Peter Obi is going to have a VERY HARD TIME if he ever wins the Presidency.

Nigerians are a funny lot. grin There's NO WAY Nigeria will ever become a developed nation with the kind of cultural orientation that dominates the populace. Never!

Actually there's nothing wrong with importing petroleum products or even crude oil. Massive importation is a sign of prosperity. The USA is one of the largest producers of crude oil in the world and ALSO one of the largest importers of crude oil. In fact it's one of the largest importers of EVERYTHING you can think of. Just food is a good example, the USA is one of the greatest and most productive farming nations in history, yet it still imports massive amounts of food. And clothing, shoes, electronics etc.

Think about it. What if Nigeria has so many factories and transportation vehicles that it can't produce enough crude oil to satisfy the need inside the country?

Put another way, what if Nigerian general productivity is so much that our crude oil reserves can't satisfy the needs INSIDE the country? Nigeria will then have to import. It's logical, that's why the USA imports. The crude oil is used as a raw material to produce other things that are sold for profit. So the nation prospers.

Let's think through things properly before condemnation. I say it again, Nigerians are funny people grin shocked grin
