Ex-convict.

Actually was eventually acquitted of all the charges on appeal after being sentenced to death.
If we go by that, Bubu committed treason by overthrowing Shagari. Had the coup failed, he and his boys including IBB, Abacha, Bali, Dongoyaro and others would have being shot.

9ja has been ruled by criminals, those who should have been shot or jailed for decades.
Nothing new.

He's one of the brightest presidential candidates and I wish Peter Obi can use him as defense minister when he assumes office as president.

Why are they fighting to remove Al-Mustapha?

Something that they know that they will not go anywhere in the forth coming election.

Atiku is the answer to Nigerians coming 2023 election.

Nothing new,

Actually, all coup plotters commit treason...Nzeogwu onwards...

The issue is, coups in the past tended to be generally popular. The 1966 coup, 1983 coup which brought down democratic rule, were popular....because people were fed up with the massive corruption then (things have not changed today...). It does not make them(the coups) right.

The sad thing is, people just sit down and clap. If people had stood up and said no to army rule in 1966,and again in 1983, by now, we probably would still be running parliamentary system of government, and we may have been doing it better (AND Lagos would have been the capital)...or we would still have the NPN and UPN..and probably 50 states by now (yes by 1982, more states were in the pipeline allegedly) But we were all too angry with the political class to come out and protest.

At the end of the day, it would have been better if Nzeogwu, Buhari , et al had resigned their commissions in the army, taken part in politics, and let the politicians muddle along instead of coup...by now we would have had a stronger democracy.

But Nigerians want instant instant...and that includes army rulers.

True. I removed Nzeogwu, Dimka, Orkar and others as they never were in govt after their coups. Or were indeed shot.

There should be a law to reduce the number of political parties in Nigeria. Having more than 20 registered political party doesn't make sense

Al - Mustapha a gallant, loyal officer, who remains the nightmare of tribalists that wanted to kill his boss and really got it hot from the no-nonsence combat/intelligence officer. After Abacha's death they tried to kill him, including using the courts, but God saved Al-Mustapha from their evil machinations
