By the time the Dangote refinery goes into full operation, I am pretty sure one or two refineries will be shut down due to their inefficient states as being run at the moment. Add this new prospects to that and the entire refining capacity of Nigeria could become concentrated in the south west. That is a working region. Now look at how the core of that transformation journey started in the modern times from Lagos: From a N600m/mo IGR in 1999 to over N45b/mo today and connect the dots yourself. Jagaban no be any of the contestants mate I beg. It takes vision to see what we are witnessing now back in 1999. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

That is cheap for a refinery. Way too cheap. They should please raise the capital outlay so it can be a profitable investment. We appreciate the investment o but like Oliver Twist, we believe they can give us more. They should please raise the investment. 5 Likes |

Must be $3b. No 4b Naira refinery can do 100,000 liters a day! I don’t even think you can build a small refinery with N4b 7 Likes 1 Share |

Menclothing: Sure. Ending fuel subsidy is a given. Nigeria will reorganise around it. We saw during covid how a whole supply chain business could be built in a limited movement environment. We are one of the most ingenious and resilient nations on earth. Just give us policy certainty and security. |

Why aren’t these oil companies including Dangote refinery been sited in the Niger delta region…? I guess due to youth restiveness , insecurity and Militancy. Well their loss…other region’s gain. 3 Likes |

Good. The private partnership with the government will really make sense. Petrochemical plants that can be producing more products from the refinery byproducts should also be considered. My thoughts is to now quickly pay a visit to Ipokia in Ogun state to acquire properties ahead of the project. .. the value of the land in Ipokia will appreciate with this. |

Easier said than done. It would be massively great when this is done but they should also know that the United Nations have directive of stoping fosil fuel by 2035. What would be the financial status of this refinaries by then? |

KingGBsky:2035 is still a long way away… Before this time the company would have made significant profits. Besides not every country would be able to move away from fossil fuel. Some will still be dependent for longer periods. Especially the African countries. |
