Nvdd Slams Acn Over Inciting Statement by Nobody: 11:34pm On Aug 25, 2011
LAGOS — THE National Vanguard for Democracy and Development, NVDD, has described a statement credited to the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, that the nation is gradually sliding into anarchy under an “emerging emperor” as uncalled for and unpatriotic.

NVDD in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Emeka Obinagwu, Thursday, accused ACN of inciting violence and civil disobedience “even when legal option has not been fully exploited.

He said: “We are sad that the party which has always advertised its perceived democratic principles on the rooftops will turn its venoms against our nascent democracy. ACN through that statement predicting Armageddon presents itself as the biggest threat to democracy and the rule of law.

“It is extremely disturbing that ACN should be predicting Armageddon over a case that is already in court.”

Obinagwu noted that with the trend of protests in ACN controlled states, one needs to wonder that this issue has been turned into a political atomic weapon by desperate politicians who believe that their personal political and business interests must always override national interest.

ACN is an opposition party and they have every right to comment on national issues,if ure not happy about it u can go and form ur own govt like GADAFFI where no one talks against anything you do.

I GEJ himself knows the case is in court and he dosent want to be seen as interfering with the judiciary, then he should have stayed action and told his stug katsina alu to allow the case to rest until the new CJN comes on.

I smell a rat somewhere.

Sadly , this is the problem with Nigeria i.e a politically confused ,unsophisticated and ethnically 'charged' polity. Today , they will agree the PDP is the problem of Nigeria as per 12 years of damning evidence. Tomorrow they will vote in a PDP President yet hope for change. They will then start telling opposition Parties , intolerantly, to shut up and let known misrulers carry on their brigandage. Tiring really. Fela did not call us "original sufferheads" for nothing.

It`s very obvious that Mr. Salami is a judicial official of ACN, if not, why is it only ACN members are SCREAMING their heads off, NJC did what they were empowered to do, Salami was given the option of apology that he ignored. We all know what happened with Osun and Ekiti states governorship tribunal. ACN please shut up. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Guess who was ACN's lawyer at the petition hearing on the conviviality of Salami with ACN to ensure the supposed victory of ACN in Ekiti and Osun ---- Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) Immediate past NBA President. Akeredolu as far as I know still represent NBA in the NJC. See links below:

Guess who is screaming the loudest on the suspension of Salami---- Joseph Dauda (Current NBA President).

Guess who is paying for the protest against Salami's suspension ------ ACN Chieftain

Can you connect the dots? NBA is in the pocket of the Action Congress of Nigeria and nobody is making noise about that.

na wa o, even EMEKA NGIGE, who was one of ACN lawyers in the ekiti and osun cases is a member of salami's legal team. All i know is that if Ajimobi does not turn Oyo to another lagos, as he promised, he'll be shown out. He complains too much!

x-factoria, the question to ask you is this, was salami removed because of his involvement to ACN or because he was told to apologise to the CJN and he refused.
Because looking tru ur post one will be confused to think salami was removed because of his involvement with ACN. Even at that sef mr president is also at fault because he knows he does not have the powers to remove him unless the senate 2/3 majority which he knows he will never get cos the thiefing PDP does not have such majority again
Re: Nvdd Slams Acn Over Inciting Statement by maasoap(m): 12:04pm On Aug 26, 2011
Why is the bond between ACN and NBA including Salami so strong like this? Remember when this man said he used only judges that he trusted for determining election tribunal appeal cases. Having forgotten that his employer (FG) trusted all of them and that was why they were employed in the first instance. But unconsciously, he was telling us that he used the judges that had common interest with him.

You read the reasons for Salami's suspension in the papers. Need I say more? I reiterated his relationship with ACN so that people can understand why the ACN and their sympathetic friend NBA have been crying loudest at the Suspension of Salami and the recommendation to remove him as PCA.

On the President's part. I am getting tired of educating people that Salami was not removed but suspended by the NJC and not Mr President. ACN and NBA are just trying to politicize everything to blackmail Jonathan. The constitution empowers the NJC to deal with any Judicial Officer found wanting on disciplinary grounds, so they suspended Salami. Jonathan cannot upturn that verdict because the constitution has entrenched the principle of seperation of power as the NJC is the supreme governing body for the Judiciary in Nigeria going by our constitution.

NJC suspended Salami and further recommended that the President commence the process of his removal. The President has not commenced that process yet. It is the removal of salami that will need 2/3rd of Senate votes. However, because his suspension leaves a vaccum in the office of the PCA, Jonathan acted as empowered by Section 238 of the consitution to appoint an acting-PCA pending the time Salami will sort out himself with its principal - NJC.

LOL, in case u dont know, PDP already has 71 seats and needs just 1 more senator, it wont be hard to convince pius erwehido(DPP, delta central) or chris anyanwu (APGA, imo east) so retract ur statement!
Re: Nvdd Slams Acn Over Inciting Statement by tunde300us(m): 12:12am On Aug 27, 2011
I dont think ure correct x-factoria cos from what i read the only reason he was to be suspended was because he refused to apologise to the CJN and that is it.
