Fresh data from the Nigeria Upstream Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has shown Nigeria’s monthly oil production has increased by 11 percent to 38.141 million barrels of Crude Oil in the month of October, a development expected to bring relief for Nigeria’s cash-strapped federal, state and local governments in the coming months.

The bulk of the revenue shared at the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting by the federal, state and local governments are dollar earnings from oil exports and are converted to naira before being shared.

Findings by Dataphyte showed in the month of October Nigeria’s QUA IBOE Oil terminal accounted for the largest amount of Crude Oil produced in October with 5.040 million barrels. ESCRAVOS oil terminal produced 4.532 million barrels.

The total production is a fall from the total 51.976 million barrels produced in January, this year. It is however an 11percent increase from the 34.116 million barrels produced in September.

The details show that the daily crude oil production of the country stood at 1.23 million barrels, a fall from the 1.676 million barrels produced in January and an increase from the 1.137 million barrels produced in September.

More money to steal.

Every country that has large deposits of crude oil is considered very rich. But, why is it that Nigeria is so RICH but Nigerians are so poor?

It's because the people managing our oil wealth are mostly thieves and bad managers. How can we change this ugly situation for our good?

When will Nigeria move away from petrodollar obsession? Other countries are investing heavily in other revenue sources.

Meanwhile, Buhari promised us diversification while he still invests heavily in prospecting crude oil in the north. It makes you wonder if he knows the meaning of that word.

Kudos to Peter Obi for exposing through CNN how Government officials are behind oil theft, now they are careful because all eyes are in them and Nigerians are no longer believing the lies from NNPC

Nigeria should dismiss the security agencies and employ more of Tompolo to guide the pipelines and water ways. It's clear that Tompolo's effort made the difference. Nigeria needs to be thinking more of being a producer nation of more than just crude oil in the next dispensation. Fossil fuel is phasing out.

Monthly oil production going up which means revenue should go up which in turn means that the amount in the ECA should be going up but that is not the case.

It didn't grow by production, what happened was that some leakages were identified and blocked.
Tompolo finally got the contract. Wisdom is in deed profitable and patient is a virtue. Who still remember when the government was looking for this guy? The guy listen to advice, understood the man in charge, shield his swords and disappear from the public eyes. Secretly he approached the authorities like the prodigal son and asked for forgiveness where he was perceived to had went wrong and promised to be a good son of the family and from his hiding place he proved his worthy of trust and today he is a contractor to the same government that was looking for him. Hmmm Mọ̀jà, mọ̀sá, lakínkanjú fi ńtọ́jọ́
