How can one survive in a toxic work environment?
My boss jokes with us sometimes but is also fond of shouting at us and threatening that who ever is tired of the work should go. He deducts monies from our salary for mistakes that happen while on official assignment. Even when people go on official assignment, they get no benefit in whatever form instead they deduct their money instead. I have also noticed that he gossips and talks bad about employees after they leave. He sets people who want to leave up. He does not want staff to be friends and creates friction among them. My bosses under him are nice but the system has made them seem bad. I have only spent some months but I am afraid of the hostile environment. I need tips for survival since there is no job outside.

just imagine yourself in a toxic relationship, are there any tips for survival? i don't think so.
a hard or difficult job in a non toxic work place is far better than a simple job in a toxic work place.

ask yourself how do you grow, what value is added to you ( financial, psychological, etc).... am gonna say you quit your job, but if you value peace of mind which am 100% sure is a necessity for all round growth, you know what to do.

I’ve been searching for another. The situation in this country is not helping.

By finding another Job or a non Toxic Dept to move to even if the pay is less but the Peace more

Start planning your exit. Ensure you get another offer before leaving.

Henceforth, set zero expectations from them in your mind.

Being broke is more toxic than a toxic work environment..
If you don’t have another offer elsewhere, better man up and continue to earn your salary there.
