It is common knowledge and several events have proven that when you fight corruption anywhere in the world, corruption fights back with great intensity. This especially applies to Nigeria where the same people who prefer the old order of not doing the right thing disguise as saints and cry to the highest heavens whenever there is an attempt to bring changes in the way of doing things.

And so, it was not surprising when a poorly written article surfaced titled, “Ifeanyi Okoma: the fraudulent Anambra Commissioner for Works in Soludo's Cabinet" written by one amateur blackmailer appeared in different social media platforms.

In as much as the statements of characters like the amateur mole/blackmailer should not pose any threat to the personality of Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, a perfect gentleman, with an unblemished and meritorious private practice service, it is pertinent to put the record straight for the benefit of millions of unsuspecting public who may stumble on the libelous story.

One does not need to read beyond the second paragraph to know where the writer was heading, but there is no need to join issues with him as he is only exercising his right to express himself as guaranteed in the Constitution.

However, it is pertinent to correct the lies that are embedded in his article in order not to mislead the public.

The dirty blackmailer tried to weave an intricate web of connection between the amiable Governor of Anambra State, Prof. CC Soludo, his in-law, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne and the Commissioner, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma but he failed woefully as he could not pinpoint or establish any claims.

The blackmailer or whoever that sponsored him alleged that Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma designed roads by himself using RB Consults as a proxy. This is a lie fabricated from the pit of hell. RB Consults is a reputable consulting firms with an identifiable address and has handled consultancy jobs for decades. The blackmailer was only trying to destroy the career of the Commissioner who is a thorough bred professional in the field of engineering and has practiced with a tract record of excellence over the years.

The mole/blackmailer alleged that so many contracts awarded could not take off because of poor design. This is another distorted fact, it is verifiable that most projects awarded and flagged off by the Governor is ongoing at a full speed including the roads in Okpoko, Awka roads, Amansea-Ebenebe-Awba Ofemili road, Storm Water Control Works at Old Enugu-Onitsha Road, Ogbunike, etc. All with 20 years guarantee. A visit to the sites will convince you.

The mole/blackmailer also alleged that the Commissioner strike deals with new Contractors with an understanding to part away with kickbacks. I want to state that this blatant and baseless accusation is unfortunate and uncalled for. This hatchet job was done to tarnish the unblemish image of Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma. A man with a track record of credibility and astute dedications to duties.

On the allegation that Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma uses his labourers in his firm to usurp the responsibilities of the Ministry of Works Engineers and write off huge amount of money as their payment. I would like to clarify by emphasising that there is no such claims to qualify such blatant accusation/lies. This is only but a deliberate falsehood.

Without mincing words, it is obvious that the dirty writer was hired on a desperate mission to impugn on the image and credibility of Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma.


Besides his futile attempt to establish a case against the Commissioner, the unashamed blackmailer equally alleged that JIL Engineering Services, a firm that handled the International Conference Center(ICC), Awka did a shoddy jobs with many structural failures. It is verifiable that the architectural masterpiece of the Conference Center is equal to none. Since, it's inception, the ICC has hosted local and international events like the "International Fashion Expo 22", "National Innovation Workshop" by Nigerian Senate Committee on Science and Technology. etc. The ICC is there for everyone to see, there was nothing wrong with its design or the structure.

In another spurious claim, the writer alleged that the Ministry of Works in connivance with Bureau of Public Procurement part with atleast 1m in cash to have their contracts documented, this again, is another falsehood. How the writer came up with such claim is absolutely as unfathomable as it is ludicrous. Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma is a man who has worked hard and diligently over the years to build a name and cannot stoop so low to soil his hand over a pot of poridge. This claim is just but absolutely a fabrication by a man that has no conscience.

I wish to conclude by reminding the blackmailer and indeed his pay masters that Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma will stop at nothing to reform the Ministry of Works to make it a standard in line with Gov. Soludo's vision of building a livable and prosperous smart mega city through the construction of quality roads and road infrastructures that will stand the test of time. He will stop at nothing to always demand that the right thing be done. Therefore, the general public are hereby called upon to disregard the allegation of fraudulent activities leveld against the Commissioner as that only exists in the imagination of the person making such claims.
