You are COAS dosen't mean u are above the law. The court can retire him.
Use your head. The COAS is only answerable to the President (C in C) and Chief of defence staff(CDS).
To think you got likes for what, you typed shows ignorance.

Is he above the chief of defence staff in rank

Simple order from the cds to the MP.. That's all.
Yes in terms of office, the CDS outranks the COAS.
But in this issue, the order has to be authorized by the President.
Without the president authorization, nothing can be done to the COAS.

Can you please share the section of the military procedure book that you pulled this from
The military procedure book is not something, you get online.
Go to a military barracks near you, politely find your way to any Commissioned Officer office and ask questions.

Did bullets fly when Jacob Zuma was sent to prison
You just dey mis-type.
Was he sent to prison, while he was a serving President.
It was after his tenure, he was arrested and sent to prison, mind you Cyril Ramaphosa approved the order.
You think, it's easy to just arrest Top officials, especially those who tasted Military powers, without the sitting president approval.

"Aequitas, sicut natura, nil frustra facit" is a legal Latin maxim meaning:
Equity, like nature, does nothing in vain

In Nigeria this is a court order that will not be obeyed. Firstly, a commanding officer can be said to be acting under the instructions of a President who has immunity from prosecution during his tenure. This is why a soldier will need to be dismissed from the army before he can be tried by civil law. Else he can only be tried under military law.

This judge is grandstanding. Foolishly too.

Don't you think a judge would no better?

The 'yeye' judge is not aware that the General can't be tried in a regular court but can only be court-martial and only by his superior undecided

The Nigerian judiciary is becoming a mess, I thought it was only in PH.

kid how old are you? an't you gonna return that fucking phone to your mom?
Who told you Court has no power to commit serving personnel of the military to prison for contempt?
The Court is the creation of the Constitution with powers to try all citizens of Nigeria .
All this indomie kids sef grin

Ask your father to use his head. Haven't your ignorant father seen a military General in the Civil Court before? When Okuta panel used to hold COAS then and most top Army officails were judged by Civil lawyers. You must be an illiterate to believe once u become COAS, you are above the law.
See how you just shamed your family.
It's Oputa panel not Okuta panel. Olodo.
Justice Oputa panel was set up by President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Without the approval of a sitting President, you can't do anything to a military top officer appointed by the president.
So piece everything together, use your head. Dummy.

Is the joke not about your own lawlessness, even though you may have celebrated the resignation of the British royal staff for racist remarks against a black woman, isn’t it

We all know none of those guys will spend a minute in prison so what's the point of the judgements. Unless there's an option of fine, the judgements are useless

Who will go and arrest them?

Nigerian judges have been making a mockery of their rulings to these last few weeks

It isn't a mockery.

A point is being made. The ruling may be unenforceable (a sad reminder of how broken this country is) but a point is being made.

It's people like you that gives the military the power to think they are above the law. In any part of the world, the officer will be arrested by the smallest officer in the police and he will and can not resist arrest. It's only in Nigeria that you see officers that can't face Boko haram feeling untouchable.

I can see some Nigerian kids that know nothing making jest of the court judgements.

It is good to see the judiciary taking the hard stance against impunity.

We know some of these arrests will not be affected. But the implications go way above the arrests of these people.

When their books are opened in their future endeavours, they will regret their disregard for the rule of law.

You kids should stop glorifying impunity and making posts you understand nothing about.

^^^
They know not what they do...

Foreign embassies and consulates in Abuja and Lagos are full of young Nigerians in their prime trying to get out - while they can. Those posters above mocking the judiciary cannot see that these things are all related.

They will 'get it' in a few years when their dreams, hopes and aspirations have crashed beyond repair.
