Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be subject to a transfer battle following the World Cup, with a second club ready to fight for the former Manchester United star, who is presently available as a free agent. Ronaldo was released by Man Utd prior to his participation at Qatar 2022 with Portugal, having given an unsolicited interview with Piers Morgan in which he claimed he had been “disrespected” by senior club members and that he was appalled by how standards have fallen.

With few clubs in Europe open to the prospect of signing the 37-year-old – Bayern Munich and Chelsea, who both considered him in the summer have distanced themselves from another possible move – there have been links with the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Nassr has formulated a bid worth €500 million until the summer of 2025 that Ronaldo is said to be pleased with, but there is set to be another offer from the Gulf state.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal has approached the player, although they remain second favorites in the race. The Italian explained: There is another club that wants Cristiano Ronaldo. This club is Al Hilal. It's true that Cristiano Ronaldo was approached by people close to Al Hilal. People at the club are prepared to make another important and crazy proposal. There is one interesting point though. I am told Al Hilal is not able to sign players in January.

They will only be able to sign players in the summer. That's why at the moment it is complicated in January. That’s why Al-Nassr is pushing. They would love to sign Cristiano Ronaldo but Al Hilal is also interested. The priority of Cristiano Ronaldo remains to have a new club as soon as possible. Al-Nassr therefore still looks likely to be Ronaldo’s next club. Al Nassr Football Club is a Saudi Arabian football club based in Riyadh. Formed in 1955, the club plays its home games at Mrsool Park.
