This goes to show that Babachir Lawal was right: Tinubu is a novice when it comes to Federal politics. Both him and Shettima really goofed here. What level of background clearance was done on the man who accepted the money? What if an overzealous journalist tracks the man's history and discovers he was involved in some sort of shenanigans which may not have any connection with Tinubu. That will still be seen as fruit from the poisonous tree. The whole thing would just taint Tinubu and rub off on him. This act was silly, unprofessional and ill advised.
