There is nothing like Nigerian elephant. It is either Asian/Indian Elephant (Elephas maximus) or African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana), or African forest elephant ( Loxodonta cyclotos)

I've seen Nigerian elephants before and even ridden on them at Ogba Zoo, Benin City and Okomu Reserve when the place was still functional many years ago.

Elephants have a really tough skin.

Ilorin is known historically known as Ilu Erin. In English it is translated as the City of Elephants because that is where Elephants converge.
But now if you see squirrel in Ilorin you will be grateful.
