I think it has to do with the 87 trillion stamp duty scam that CBN is involved in. All other issues are distractions.

If this is true there is more to the naira redesign than meet the eye

When he introduced this extremely restrictive Naira withdrawal policy including the Naira redesign, I am sure he must have received pleas from from politicians, businessmen and others. He stood his ground.

I am sure those pleas began turning to subtle threats but remain stiffnecked. Now they've taken the gloves off and are aiming for the jugular. He thought he was dealing with Zenith bank staff. He was soon to realuse he was stepping on very bog toes.

On paper, one might mistake the policy as well intentioned but in retrospect, had he won the presidential candidacy of a party, would he introduce such? I am sure it's a big fat no. It would have killed his presidential ambition.

His presidential ambition was killed nevertheless and I think he sought revenge. Again, he thought he was dealing with Zenith bank staff. I doubt he will complete his second term.
