Check out the video I did today and different prices I saw at Ile-Ife, South West Nigeria. I saw prices of big Broilers as High as 13k Average Prices of many are between N7500-N9500, depending on the weight and bargaining power The Layers are between N3000 to N3800. spiceadole: It is not about the sellers The drugs and poultry vaccines are kw expensive. Don't let me even talk about the feeding expenses. Their feed became expensive because it's no longer surplus before, this is due to low maize production which in turn as a result of farmers-herdmen palaver. spiceadole: Some of you never think before you talk. Do you think poultry farmers just woke up one morning and decided to raise the prices? Do you know how much a single bag of feeds costs? The cost of running a farm is now very high, selling at the usual price will incur a huge loss. Farmers have to raise the price to meet up with expenses and also make profit. |
