One of the reasons a lot of professionals are reluctant to begin their CIPS journey is the prohibitive costs of both the exams and the materials

For example, materials for the Diploma Level (L4) alone will cost two hundred and twenty pounds, while the exams themselves (8 modules) cost at least five hundred and forty-four pounds. Imagine having to expend same costs for L5 and L6, as well, to get the MCIPS designation, and you will understand why there is a shortage of CIPS-qualified Procurement Professionals in Nigeria.

While little (we will tell you how we can help) can be done about the exam costs themselves, we can actually help you achieve significant cost-savings on the materials.

We can provide you with the materials for the 8 modules for L4 at four thousand naira each. The materials will come in PDF format that is printable and compatible with all PDF document readers.

For getting materials from us, you will be entitled to the following perks:

1. Registration of student membership (if you are just starting out) and booking of exams at least twenty naira less the prevailing card dollar rate. For example, if the dollar rate for the day is four hundred and forty naira per dollar, we will do your registration and exam booking at an average of four hundred and ten naira per dollar. The idea is to reduce the cost implication of writing the CIPS exams. You can benefit from this perk even if you dont get materials from us. Terms and Conditions apply

2. You will get access to a mini-mentorship programme. I have nearly 6 years experience in supply chain and corporate business operations. I have also written two of the CIPS exams and i am billed to write more in March. So, i am quite versed with the structure and content of the CIPS exams. The mini-mentorship programme will include the following

- Providing answers to all your burning questions as regards the nature, structure, timeline and milestones of the CIPS exams and certifications.

- Reveal a timeline with which you can structure your exams so that you can make the most of your registration costs and get your certifications in record time, if you are on a tight budget and schedule

- Revision of materials and provision of AOC prior to examinations

You can reach us on zero eight one two eight nine nine zero six eight five

Are the materials the current syllabus in line with what is sold by CIPS? because i am aware CIPS have theirs.

I am a supply chain professional with APICS-CSCP qualification and currently studying to obtain MBA in supply chain management in H1'2022.
I have years of experience in supply chain operation as well as demand planning in manufacturing and telco sector.

For those contemplating if SCM is a good career, I make bold to tell them that SCM is not just good but the ideal profession of the century, and it is still growing beyond the traditional supply chain functions such as: logistics, procurement, production, warehousing e.t.c. It shouldn't be surprising to anyone again that of serious concern to supply chain management are credence to the 3-Core Vs ( velocity, visibility and variability) among the rest Vs in the field , hence the integration of supply chain management of 21st centuries to evolving levers such as: big-data, artificial intelligence(AI), machine learning (ML) internet of thing (IOT), lean or continuous improvement(CI), to mention but few.

Let me allay the fear of unknown from those still contemplating if SCM is right for them that they have array of specialisation to choose from as the profession itself is ever evolving.

It is my joy to see galaxy of Nigerian SCM professionals in near future.

Kindly contact me via timmyoguntola@gmail.com, if you need any of the following:

Career counselling in SCM.
Approved study centers in Nigeria for various SCM certification/PGD/Masters.
APICS-CSCP examination materials.
APICS-CPIM examination materials.
APICS-CLTD examination materials.

I wish all, the best of luck in our search for career success.

Received my level 4 certificate earlier this week. Moving over to level V right away. one step at a time we shall get there.

Sorry to ask.
Which professional course did you write and how much does it cost?

I'm an undergrad who wishes to start scm professional exams when I graduate. The courses I'm seeing are foreign and costs a fortune at least for me.
What advice do you have for me please?

That was Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), UK. Fees are in pounds and they are quite expensive particularly if you consider the current exchange rate.

Concerning choices of professional courses, it depends on your area of interest. For example, I did CIPS cos Supply Chain is my area of specialization and CIPS is arguably the most recognised Supply Chain related institute in Europe

Business Administration.

Business Administration.

You are on the right path, bro. A degree in Business Administration will position you to venture into any arm of the corporate business world - Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, etc. And it is very commendable that you already have a focus and a path you intend to specialise in - Supply Chain Management. It will accelerate your growth when you eventually enter into the industry.

You can begin with registering on LinkedIn and connecting with Supply Chain professionals and pages, ensuring to read up their posts and attend online meetings about the function.

There are also 2 reputable Supply Chain group on Telegram I also recommend that you join. They are The Supply Chain Network and Young Supply Chain Professionals. You can connect with me on whatsapp and we will figure out how to have you join.

If you have some funds, I also encourage you to join the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) as a student member. There are discounts for a student member. Joining the association will give you.access to premium membership materials and articles.

You can also begin saving towards writing your CIPS exams. You can start with Level 4. There are 8 exams on this level, and each exam costs about 94usd for the OR modules and about 110usd got the CR modules.

Finally, don't forget to finish with at least a 2.1 so that you can have a good shot at joining the Graduate Trainee programs of multinationals and diversify into Supply chain from there.

Wishing you good luck in your journey.
