10 LP Gubernatorial Candidates To Watch Out For in 2023 by NigerianAngelo(m): 1:38pm On Dec 26, 2022
1. Nasarawa State: Joseph EWUGA
Joseph Ewuga has vowed to unseat the current Government of Abdullahi Sule in the State. He has decried the exploitation of natural minerals in the State without pay or compensation and the non-payment salaries. According to him "the State's poverty is extreme and artificial." He has a number of support groups working for his campaign, and formally launched campaigns December 11.

2. Plateau State: Patrick Sunday DAKUM
Patrick Dakum is the leading candidate in Plateau State.
He is a Lecturer, University of Maryland USA (Virology) and CEO of the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria.
He served as Health Commissioner and later Information Commissioner in Plateau State since 1999. He is a practicing Catholic and has anchored radio programs as a part-time passion for over ten years.

3. Kaduna State: Jonathan ASAKE
All Kaduna South (about 50% of Kaduna State) and growing numbers in Kaduna North have turned on lockdown for Jonathan Asake. Asake is a former LG Chairman, former House of Representatives member, and former Lecturer. He is in leading position in Kaduna with APC and APC splitting the other 50% of the votes and Joseph Datti pulling out more sympathy votes up North for Asake.

4. Abia State: Alex OTTI
A first class graduate who rose to become MD of Diamond Bank and resigned October 2014 (to have way for the Chairman's son), Alex Otti of LP is the leading Gubernatorial candidate in Abia State.

5. Taraba State: Joel IKENYA
A former Minister of Labour and Former Senator, Joel is a grassroot politician in Taraba. He is already the leading Gubernatorial candidate in the State. Joel left PDP primaries for the Labour Party when it was clear to him they will not give him their ticket. There is also dissatisfaction with the current Government perceived as too non-chalant.

6. Ebonyi State: Splendour EZE
Splendour Eze is likely in for a possible savage win in Ebonyi State by the bandwagon and a strong anti-old-system grief in Ebonyi State. There have been many fulani killings and Governor oppression in the State. Labour Party has candidates for nearly ALL elective offices in Ebonyi State with full money campaign on the roll.
Splendour was recently endorsed (Dec 24) by a number of youth and pan-cultural groups as the Governorship candidate for the forthcoming election in the State. Splendour is the candidate to beat in Ebonyi State and the National Labour Party Office recently unveiled a full Campaign Council for the Gubernatorial elections in the State.

7. Lagos State: Gbadebo Patrick Chinedu RHODES-VIVOUR, 39.
Mother is Igbo, wife is Igbo. Patrick RV is a practicing Architect and Graduate of Architecture in Nottingham and MIT Universities (UK & US respectively).
He also completed his Secondary education in France. He previously ran for LG Chairman and Senator but was unsuccessful, though he pulled a great challenge.
Sanwo-Olu's performance is not necessarily at zero. Gbadebo Patrick will have to prove himself, but if Peter wins and he proves quite capable, a tsunami may blow his way.

8. Akwa Ibom: Uduakobong Peter UDOH .
He is seriously campaigning and pulling out resources. He has a huge following coupled with people's disaffection over the handpicked PDP candidate, whom many perceive an un-gubernatorial and empty.

9. Benue State: Herman HEMBE
Herman Hembe is a trained lawyer and former House of Representatives member. He gained popularity as his people settle on LP as the new party. He
has already led many to decamp to LP since June. He is currently the leading candidate in Benue State and has 100% chance of winning through diligence. He has placed in resources and grassroot outreach.

10. Cross River: Ernest Joseph OBASSE
Ernest is an urban planner who has already released his manifesto on what to do as Governor and how to wipe out unemployment. Labour Party is very popular in Cross River State where Peter Obi's wife hails from.

Feel free to add yours or more details about them.

Presidential election comes before gubernatorial. You guys have never heard of bandwagon effect especially for a party like Labour with Obi as the only structure. After the presidential election and with Obi's failure, the euphoria will fizzle out and obidients will not even come out to vote in the subsequent elections that will follow

You couldn't even get the names of the gubernatorial candidates correct. That's lazy on your path.
Linus Okorie is not a gubernatorial candidate.
Same as the guy you mentioned for Enugu

Otti is sure to win Abia. It's not even negotiable.
Nobody can defeat him, I don't even know the names of the PDP and APC candidates.

Rhodes cannot win Lagos, Sanwolu will win Lagos comfortably. Very comfortably

NigerianAngelo:
1. Akwa Ibom: Uduak Peter Udoh.
He is seriously campaigning and pulling out resources. He has a huge following coupled with people's disaffection over the handpicked PDP candidate, whom many perceive an un-gubernatorial and empty.

2. Plateau State: Patrick Sunday Dakum
The literal front-runner in the 2023 Plateau State Gubernatorial elections.

3. Lagos State: Patrick Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour.

5. Ebonyi State: Linus Okorie
Linus Okorie is modest on his chances in Ebonyi State. While he has received some harassment from the incumbent Governor, he however is going about his campaign. PDP though also have a good making.

6. Abia State: Alex Otti
A first class graduate who rose to become MD of Diamond Bank and resigned October 2014 (to have way for the Chairman's son), Alex Otti of LP is the leading Gubernatorial candidate in Abia State.

7. Enugu State: Casmir Agbo
A veteran civil servant. Casmir won the LP Gubernatorial ticket June 2022. He however faces outdone competition and popularity from Peter MBAH of PDP and Frank NWEKE of APGA.

8. Benue State: Herman Hembe
Herman Hembe is running the campaign with resources and grassroot outreach in a manner to win.

If either Atiku or Tinubu wins, 2027 would be so easy for him as LP will secure wins in number of seats at states and national assembly level.
Pls remove lagos. Sanwo will win.
LP will have strong showing in kaduna with reasonable numbers of seats at state levels. Northern cabal wouldn't allow a Christian to be a governor through ballot in the state.

Dont raise your hopes too high. LP is still a new party, and is suffering a shortage of funds compared to the establishment parties.

The only good thing lp is doing, especially in the south, is splitting opposition votes for apc.

Re: 10 LP Gubernatorial Candidates To Watch Out For in 2023 by ImmaculateJOE(m): 3:12pm On Dec 26, 2022
Alex Otti of Abia is non-negotiable same as Plateau state guy. Enugu and Ebonyi is very much winnable

If Southern Kaduna can get their acts well, Jonathan Asake will trunce both APC & PDP there.

Herbert Hembe of Benue cannot defeat Yess! Father. Same as RGV of Lagos.

The candidates of Taraba, Cross River, Akwa Ibom have no chance.

Splitting opposition votes for APC? What is it then doing for PDP? Preserving their votes?

I don't know about the rest. But I know Otti will win.... Lagos should return Sanwo Olu. Seems he's trying. I will prefer that APC rev. fr in Benue. Let's see what a priest can do. Kaduna will definitely swing to whichever way
Re: 10 LP Gubernatorial Candidates To Watch Out For in 2023 by dionma: 4:41pm On Dec 26, 2022
Only Alex Otti I see here. Besides Kaduna does not make up 50% of Kaduna. If that was so, El-Rufai would not have won second term on a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Rhodes Vivour cannot win Lagos. The grassroot support of Labour in Lagos is very poor. Take it to the Bank. He is banking on the Obi wave which in this instance is not strong enough for a state like Lagos.

You all mentioning Alex Otti dont know Abia well. The man just joined LP from APC. You dont know how hated APC is in Abia.

Edited: joined APGA from PDP, left APGA for APC and has left APC for LP. He has been contesting since 2015. Went on court case against Ikpeazu twice (2015 and 2019?). He is currently being likened to Buhari who had struggled against all to be president only to fail in Abia. The man is a serial crosscarpeter and is riding on the euphoria of Obi's candidacy. He might be good though, but who knows

Dem no use BVAS for Ekiti election where Labour nearly laboured to death with meagre 3K votes ?!
. Yes that is exactly what APC as usual would have rigged it like they did the last time but with BVAS let me see that 2m votes in kano without void and mistake, this time around the accepted candidate will head to winning the criminal incident forms
