Nigerians have reacted to celebrity comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, often known as Mr. Funny or Oga Sabinus, for making fun of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Sabinus has been trending online with a viral, which shows the comedian entertaining his crowd at a recent show in Port-Harcourt with some skit makers mimicking Tinubu.

In response to the video, Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, wrote on his Twitter page, “This is very insulting Sabinus.”

Another Tinubu’s supporter, Qudus Akanbi Eleyi of Lagos, called out the comedian for the act and urged Twitter users to unfollow the comedian.

While another cross-section of supporters, backing Sabinus, claimed he only mimicked Tinubu.

@firstladyship said: “Sabinus is a young man minding his business. He paid his dues in full. Freedom of speech is guaranteed under your constitution. The APC will be defeated & sent back to the underworld (whence they came). Please follow @Sabinus1_ for more hilarious contents.”

@muzzie_ola said, “In English, what Sabinus did is called “mimicking” many great presidents, leaders, actors, actress have been mimicked in the past. Tinubu was mimicked, they didn’t add any words he didn’t say.. if you find this disgusting, that’s how disgusting you candidate appears and sounds.”

Their presidential candidate has insulted fellow politicians and even a presidential candidate but they can't take what they are dishing out. These ones belong in their houses not Aso Villa

There's a reason wise entertainers and businessmen don't dabble into anything political.

For example, if Nigerian Breweries or Basket Mouth decided to be political, what would happen to their customers or fans that don't belong to or believe in the political preference?

As a businessperson or an entertainer, stay neutral. Don't sacrifice your product or brand on the altar of politics.

Politics isn't worth the trouble.

Suddenly the same comedy skit wherein northern youth mimic and make jest of Tinubu that they all laughed over is now unacceptable unto them because an Igbo man has done his own.

Something sitting or retired world leaders are being constantly subjected to? Are these people mad? It means Jonathan ought to have executed all of them in 2014.

Bola Tinubu have been insulting other presidential candidates especially with his indignant "it is a disgrace to mention the name of Funke Akindele and Peter Obi in my presence." A people who are hellbent on foisting an invalid with dirty past and present political history on a nation of 200M people?

What butt of joke have the satanic Tinubu’s ambition not subjected this nation to? Someone who countless warnings have been sounding as a red flag that have no business being in the corridors of power let along contesting for the presidency? What a country full of bloody hypocritical people.

Two bloody fools. Then, former President Goodluck Jonathan ought to have butchered all of them to pieces for how how not only did they not abused and insulted his person and family but even the office of the President.

Tinubu introduced that dangerous politics in 2014. Now karma is back dishing it to him red, red hot and they can't take it? This showed the tyrannical people that they are. You can never support or associate with the APC and your senses remain intact.

Is it only tinubu that was mimics in d comedy show,then why are u pple crying,apc urchin have forgotten how they insulted Jonathan and wife,even in Obasanjo time,he was mimics many time by our old comedians in Night of A Thousand Laughs,even d popular one blood is thicker than water to a monkey,and will have someone who is also mimicking buhari also,even in abroad they are many time politicians have been mimic,which Trump own was d highest,but yet they no angry.

Rikwa nsi there Buhari's aide. Is Sabinus the only person mocking Tinubu ? Are you blind to notice that people from all over the country especially northerners are making mockery and caricature of him. Infact the first mockery video about Tinubu I watched is from the northerners. I went to Hausa quarters some days back as I have friends there, they were all mocking Tinubu , most told me plainly that they will be voting kwakwabso, few are rooting for atiku, I said peter obI they said they won't vote for him, I said Tinubu they laughed and said another sick old man won't rule this country that they learnt lesson from Buhari. They showed me another video of core northerners singing and making caricature of Tinubu. So Buhari's aide, rest in Jesus name I say rest.

The Igbo comedian chose to mimick Tinubu at the expense of Obi. Is this not another evidence that Igbos in Nigeria use Lagos as their succor land? The Igbo comedian believe use of BAT will generate more traffic for him on his blog. Obi cannot sell if he is mimicked.May SW continue to bring food on the tables of of our SE people?
